A tranquil site in the Mendip Hills AONB, Mendip Ski Camp will be a big hit with activity fans. It's spacious and perfect for families, small groups and pooches looking for a relaxed break. Campfires and BBQs are welcome. Hone your skills on the dry ski slope at the centre next door, whizz by on a toboggan, try archery, watersports, abseiling and more (book in advance with the centre). In the village is a good pub and Thatchers Cider Farm.

Looking for a holiday with lots to do? This handy base has loads of walking and cycling trails and is a modest drive from beaches (30 mins from the coast with Weston-super-Mare a popular seaside option) and more. It's both easily accessible and secluded, with a well maintained, scenic feel and village amenities close by. Neighbouring woodland is packed with wildlife for the kids to spot. Two large fields offer pitches set on grass without electric, to suit tents and small campervans only. Walkers will be keen to take on the Strawberry Line, the excellent Mendip Way and the challenge of long and short routes at Cheddar Gorge.

Mendip Activity Centre is located next door and offers all the fun of a dry ski slope and toboggan experience. Here you can try out watersports, archery, frisbee golf and abseiling (be sure to book these with the centre in advance).
