On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales and tucked away in the Washburn Valley, Breaks Fold Farm Glamping and Camping is a quiet and rural camping and glamping site. It is home to grass camping pitches suitable for tents only. The site is situated halfway between Harrogate and Skipton, offering an excellent location for exploring plenty of local attractions.

About the site


This site is ideal for exploring the Yorkshire Dales, Nidderdale AONB and the Washburn Valley. The working hill farm is situated right on the edge of stunning Thruscross at the higher end of the Washburn Valley. The area is ideal for keen walkers and cyclists with plenty of well-maintained footpaths and tracks. The camping field is spacious, with 20 grass pitches without electric, suitable for tents only and up to six people. Please note that these pitches are slightly sloping. We have a new modern shower/toilet block with fully enclosed heated shower and toilet rooms. Also 2 new toilet blocks. We have a washing up shed, with free to use fridges and a freezer for ice packs. The site is perfect if you fancy a quiet rural getaway surrounded by nature. Dogs are welcome (Most be kept on a lead at ALL times in the camping field with up to two per unit. BBQs are permitted if raised off the ground to protect the grass, and fire pits are available to hire from the farm house. We operate a quiet time from 10pm to 8am, so we are not the site for those wishing to play music and get drunk/be loud all night. We welcome respectful campers looking to enjoy this beautiful part of the world. Phone charging lockers available (chargeable)

Facilities include a unisex toilet block (two male and two female), showers (two male and two female) and an indoor/outdoor washing up area. You will also find an information hut with another washing up area with three sinks. Guests will have access to a communal fridge and freezer.

Kids can enjoy running around in the small play area. There is also WiFi, however, in some areas it is poor.

A local pub, The Wellington Inn, is a short five minute drive from the site. For those everyday essentials, Crimple Valley Fresh Darley Village Shop is a ten minute drive or head to Morrisons 20 minutes away.

20 x Non Electric Grass Pitches

Spacious grass pitches in a gently sloping, two acre field suitable for tents, trailer tents and small campervans up to 6m without electric.

5 x Electric Grass Pitches

Level grass 8m x 7m pitches with fenced borders and metered electric for tents, trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Cars and gazebos must also fit within the pitch measurements alongside your unit.


Check in from 2pm-8pm - Late arrivals not accepted. Check out by 11.30am.

We operate a quiet time from 10pm to 8am, so we are not the site for those wishing to play music and get drunk/be loud all night. We welcome respectful campers looking to enjoy this beautiful part of the world.

Absolutely! Your four legged friend is more than welcome onsite, as long as they remain on the lead. Breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted.

Check-in onsite is between 2pm and 8pm. Check-out for camping is by 11:30am.

Yes, you are welcome to have a BBQ on site, just please ensure it is raised off the ground. You are also welcome to use the fire pits, but these must be hired from the site and wood must also be purchased from them too.

Sorry, day guests are not allowed on site. However, there are plenty of amazing places to meet up locally with family and friends.

Pitches

You are welcome to add a gazebo to your booking if you're staying on one of the grass camping pitches. The gazebos can be up to 3m x 3m in size.

You are welcome to park one car at your pitch, but you may be asked to park on hardstanding in adverse weather. Extra cars can be added for a small fee but are not permitted on the electric pitches.

Yes, there are EV charging points onsite, you will just need to have the Charge Assist app.
