Clear filters Not sure Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Where to start, our motorhome only just fit on the hardstanding. We wouldn't have had space to put our awning up, not least as the trees branches where over hanging,
The site has cabins, tents, motorhomes, caravans. I feel that this site needs a revamp with much more space allocated to your pitch. Felt very cramped and the pitch next door had a tent, was only 15 inches from our van.
People are friendly, tuck shop, and play area for children. We used as a stop over, that was ok, but if you're going for a few days, could become very cramped, bins and toilets all fine. Just too many vehicles for the site.
Poor stay VW-Type Campervan - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Great location, terribly looked after. We had to pay an extra £5 as all pitches were taken, so they had to put us next to the river (stream). Don't see why an extra charge?
Grass unkempt, no lighting around the site, noisy on site and very basic wash facilities. Felt like a festival campsite. Will not return.
Great campsite! Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Lovely quiet campsite, great location, great facilities and amazing pizza!
Pleasant site in good locaton Recommends site
VW-Type Campervan - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Easy to find, walking distance to coast, good pizza hut next to site.
Cleaning a bit hit and miss, gone-off stuff left in fridges.
Disappointing Sprinter-Type Campervan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Stayed 3 nights. Staff were friendly.
Site fine if you like the feeling of being in a goldfish bowl with vans on both sides, in front of you and people outside the huts on higher ground looking down on you. No screening or hedges. Long rows of vans (9 or 10) with grass between. Hardstanding very good. Plenty of drinking water and electric hook-up points.
Cars, vans and people coming by all the time as a 1 way system in operation.
Toilets clean but toilet brushes disgusting. Lots of toilet paper. Showers with no undressing or dressing area and clothes and shoes get splashed. Water warm and okay. Good geographical area. Rode bikes to Bamburgh and castle, and easy 15 mins by car to Seahouses for Farne Island boat trips.
However, we will not return to this site.
Just fabulous Recommends site

Hi Michelle. Thanks for your lovely review! We hope to see you on site again in future.
Great location Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Sep 2024 Brilliant location for walking to the beach - can get to Bamburgh along coast path in a 90 minute stroll.
River on site, which is pretty. Dog friendly and plenty of showers with good water pressure.
A big site with lots of caravans that have been put up for the season, which makes the site look a bit untidy but if you are near the river you can avoid seeing them.
Staff friendly and nice little shop.
First time camping Recommends site
Small Tent - Medium Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 Booked for a first time camping night. Decided to book based on the reviews.
Check in was very easy, facilities were clean. No problems at all. Lovely site we would book again the costal walk is stunning. If wanting the Pizza truck pre-book we missed out 🥺. Went to local chip shop The John Dory in Belford which was great value for money and only a 5 min drive away.
Also in Belford is a lovely Bistro for Brekky - The Sunnyhills.

Lovely stay Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 Clean and well maintained site. Myself and two teenagers had a lovely stay.
Having read the previous negative comments about toilets, we were expecting the absolute worse. But can honestly say that they weren't that bad, we've stayed at a lot worse. For camping toilets, can't expect much more. The toilets were cleaned everyday 11am. At times, dirty, disgusting people had left the toilets in an awful state for the staff to clean up.
We would stay here again. Enjoyed.

Lovely family campsite Recommends site
Medium Tent - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 First time at Budle Bay campsite, great site for families with plenty of kids and a small playground. Great location for sights including Bamburgh Castle and Lindisfarne.

Late summer trip Recommends site
Motorhome - Super XXL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 A decent park located quite close to Banburgh beach and castle.
Could do with upgrading and improving the shower facilities

Thanks for your review, Wayne.
Nice, tucked away campsite Recommends site
Motorhome - Standard Plus Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 Very peaceful site in walking distance of the X18 brilliant bus service that runs along Northumberland coast. Early leaving site rule of 10:30am, which for us is not the norm.
Walking on the shingle main route can be difficult for those with mobility problems. Excellent pizza a walk away from campsite. Coastal path walk from campsite.
Lovely campsite with friendly staff Recommends site
Medium Tent - XL Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 We did a quick stop over and it was perfect for the north-east coast.

Thanks so much for your five-star review, Paul!
Great visit Recommends site
Medium Tent - Standard Plus Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 Very nice stay at this popular campsite. No major complaints.
The management have thought of most things to make Budle Bay a great campsite to visit. We liked the security gate which needs a code to enter and leave. Also, the simplicity of checking in, a good quality map makes locating your pitch easy. Ours was a little small, but this was expected as we had email communication before arrival enquiring about the size of our tent. Washing up and bathroom facilities were very good. Showers could do with a stool in each cubicle for those who are a bit unsteady on one leg.
All in all, it was a lovely visit.
I would go back! Recommends site
Large Tent - Super XXL Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 The staff were friendly and helpful. The shower and toilet facilities were fine for a campsite, with a decent pot-washing area and free fridge and freezer use.
It's near to Bamburg castle and great as a central base for several other towns. We camped and the pitch was pretty level and close to the river...it was nice to listen to the river as I was falling asleep.

Thanks for your great review, Jeremy - sounds like you had a lovely trip.
You'd be very welcome back in the future!
Poor Single Axle Caravan - Large Riverside Grass Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 Simply awful. The first signs of it being so was when the pitch I booked had 'all of sudden' become sold out. Having paid £85 for two nights - electric hook up for a caravan - I was told the only option was to take an upgraded pitch 'by the riverside' for £100. Reluctantly, I paid this. Upon arrival, there were plenty of 'standard' pitches available for the two nights. The allocated pitch was too tight to reverse the caravan into - so we had to unhitch and have some help pushing it into place.
The site is made up of a mixture of long-stay caravans, tents, campervans and tourers. I feel that all the facilities are outdated and in need of refurbishment and proper cleaning. How they can charge even £20 a night is beyond me - let alone £50.
No Wi-Fi option and 4G is non existent. Overpriced, under-invested, barely clean, unkempt site.
Site's response
Hello Andrew.
You made a provisional booking request through Campsites.co.uk. Sadly, we were almost entirely full - you booked to stay on Friday night in the middle of August (school holidays, peak season, great weather!) but we were able to find space for you, so you didn't miss out.
You did not need to take that pitch, and could have very easily decided to go elsewhere if you thought the price wasn't right.
Re: no WIFI or 4G - we are a campsite, in the middle of one of the most sought-after and desirable areas of natural beauty in the UK. Open your eyes, enjoy the nature and wildlife around you, and have a chat with others. Maybe you'll find camping and escaping from technology every once in a while is for you after all!
Thanks for your review.
7 person hut Recommends site
Glamping Cabin - Hill View Huts (Seven Person) Aug 2024 Stayed in the 7 person hut and loved it.
Kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave in the hut if you don't want to eat out. Amazing pizza van nearby but order early! Huts also have key access to another kitchen with a hob, pots and pans and a sink to wash up in addition to the campers sinks. Unfortunately, the toilets are all shared and take a torch as it it very dark walking from the huts at night.
The hut was not very clean would be my only complaint. I actually think they had forgotten to clean it before we checked in as it was really bad, but these things happen and we had wipes, and found a dust pan and brush in the kitchen so sorted it before unpacking ourselves.
The site was nice and quiet at night as promised, so great for families. Location was good in terms of short journeys in car to lovely beaches, but we thought with it being on a coastal path, we would do more walking. Unfortunately, this isn't possible with small kids and dogs as it is along a busy road and not all footpath. Loads to do a short drive away though.
Not much for older children on site. Ours thought they had found a nice covered seating area but turned out this was only for the bunkhouse.
Stay Recommends site
Single Axle Caravan - Medium Hardstanding Pitches (Optional Electric) Aug 2024 A good site in a good spot.
