Very impressed

Very lovely stay, staff were super friendly and helpful. Quiet times were enforced by staff, so noise wasn't an issue. We were able to get the local bus advertised in reception to local villages. Overall, would recommend. Thank you.

We loved our stay

Couldn't have asked for a better stay. The only thing that would have made it a tiny bit better was a football area for the kids but there was loads of beach for that. Everything else was absolutely perfect

Not the greatest site we've stayed at

Should have read the site reviews more closely before booking Budle Bay to be honest. The pitch (16), not the easiest to negotiate it was a bit tight for a VW T6 LWB. Toilet and shower facilities at the other end of the site, approx 3 to 5 minute walk from the pitch were reasonable, the showers were hot. There was toilet facilities available within 30 seconds of the pitch, but they get closed from around 8pm until 8am, not sure why as it didn't make any sense.

I am sorry you found getting onto the pitch very difficult. It would be for it is not meant for vehicles of your length. Though of a good size and by the river in a very quiet part of the campsite, it is for cars bringing tents and under 5m campervans. Not motorhomes (our definition) such as yours. You booked last minute with few pitches left, on a popular campsite due to the range of factors (facilities, the accommodation we offer - camping pitches from small to super, huts, lodges, bunkhouse, hardstandings, riverside pitches- beauty, location and pricing) and you would have had to take what was available. We have plenty of other medium pitches that pose no access restrictions if you had booked earlier. We are a rare campsite in that we have 2 toilet blocks. One is closed at night as it is in the building where staff sleep (we did tell you this personally) but the other is always open. You could also look at this from the sunny side of life and say that we offered you double the service that other sites do for at least 12 hours of the day! Also, if being close to the toilet block 24/7 is important to your enjoyment of our site, which your score in this review seems to suggest it is, then please put that in the notes and we will do our best to accommodate your wishes.

My stay at Budle Bay

Me and my dog stayed here for two nights. Excellent site and friendly staff. I will be staying here again.

Excellent location

Quite expensive but the location was perfect. The site has a great vibe and the facilities were clean. The pizza and coffee van are really great additions. Nice staff too, couldn't fault it.

Our hardworking staff put a lot of effort into providing a positive atmosphere on site greatly help by the wonderful guests who have read what we are all about here-friendly, peaceful, a good nights sleep- and want that from their stay. A quick word on prices. We are bang in the middle of everything in the Area of Outstanding Beauty, on the coastal area and in a beautiful valley. We are also one of the few local sites that has the full range of accommodation options (huts, pitches both grass and hardstanding, bunkhouse, lodges) with a range of pitch sizes to suit all budgets. Thus we have location and high demand.

Bank holiday weekend

The pitch we had for the camper with awning was fine, with hard standing and a maintained grass area large enough for the awning. The site was very busy, but check in was quick and easy. It's secure with keypad gate access and exit. The site had showers and toilets only but the showers were only luke warm at any time of the day. There is a coffee van by the entrance and a Pizza Hut a short walk away. The site is in a really good location for lots of places to visit nearby.

Budle bay weekend

Lovely weekend at Budle bay campsite. Very warm and friendly welcome and staff were always available if needed. Campsite was basic but had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Loved the coffee shop and pizza place. We will definitely return to this site. Carol, Michael and Henry the dog.

One night stay

Handy for the Holy island and Bamburgh Castle. Few vans when we went and in school term so quiet. Dogs welcome and welcomed.

Very nice, clean, well maintained site

Very nice quiet site. Clean showers and toilets, plenty of hot water. A shop for all your essentials. Would definitely stay again.

Great site

Peaceful and friendly site. Staff are respectful and helpful. Toilet blocks are spotless. Coffee Hut on site plus fab pizzas just off site.

A very peaceful campsite with great facilities

We had an excellent stay at the Budle Bay campsite. The tent pitch was a generous size, taking our tent and car easily, and the location along side the river was very welcome. The toilets and showers were very clean, and the water nice and hot, with good pressure in the showers. And good nights sleep were had as the campsite was very quiet.

Lovely campsite

A lovely quiet campsite with some riverside pitches, with a mix of grass and hard standing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The site has fantastic views. It is close to the coastal walk to Bamburgh and the bus to Bamburgh and Seahouses.

Lovely site

Lovely quiet site, medium riverside pitch was big enough for our 5 man tent and car. Toilets and showers were clean as was the washing up station. Short drive to the places we wanted to visit (Bamburgh and Holy Island). Staff seemed nice.

Lovely, friendly site

Highly recommend a visit to this campsite. The staff went above and beyond to rectify a booking error, despite it being bank holiday weekend, they moved things around to ensure we had a great pitch. The facilities are good. Pizza, coffee and little shop gives you everything you need. We took an Uber into Bamburgh, 10 mins drive away. Will definitely visit again!

Great campsite, lovely staff

Lovely site, good size pitch with grass areas for kids to play. Staff/owners very friendly and helpful. Showers and toilets clean, as was the whole site very tidy. Good location for visiting Bamburgh Castle. Will come again.

Great experience!

We had a brilliant stay here. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and brilliant with the children too. Clean cabin with a kettle, fridge microwave and toaster and handy table inside and out and located within easy distance from the kitchen cabin and shower/ toilet block. Play park very handy for the kids and the campsite within 5-15 mins drive from Bamburgh, Seahouses and Budle Bay. Only downside is it's not the most picturesque of campsites but it didn't bother us, as we were so close to the beautiful Northumberland beaches.

Perfect location

My grandson and I loved this campsite. Adam was very friendly and checked on campers during their stay. Location was fabulous and we loved the pizza place and coffee shop.

Easter weekend stay

Central location. Friendly staff. Lovely pizza van on site. Decent park for kids to play in. Facilities could have been slightly cleaner.

Fantastic site!

Fantastic site. Within walking distance of the beach and beautiful views. Good facilities. Very peaceful place. Would highly recommend and we will definitely return.

Clean facilities and easy access

Easy to book and easy to find. We booked last minute and managed to get a hard standing pitch with electric hookup. All was great. There were plenty of showers and toilets which were clean. 5 min walk away was an amazing pizza takeaway. Even though it was busy, all was quiet by 22:30. A little more expensive than some of the other campsites but we had no complaints.

Perfect location for exploring Bamburgh and surrounding area

Great site in a great location. If you need Wi-Fi to download maps, do so before your stay as no internet available and fairly poor phone signal as site in a dip. I know when away it's good to escape social media, however having a phone signal is important to me - elderly parents. Make sure you book the exact measurements for your van to pitch ratio as this may cause a problem when busy. Luckily, we were offered a different pitch. Our van was physically measured on arrival as we had bikes on the back that added the length. Majority of staff very friendly and helpful. Perhaps it would be nice for them to relax just a little, condescending rule explaining is not necessary, especially when we agree with them. Overall, this is a lovely site with good clean facilities, offering you all you need.
