About the site

The tranquil pop-up campsite at Harry's Field is surrounded by quiet country lanes and hedgerows teeming with wildlife. Designed by campers (the Sheriff family), for campers, it's flat and very well drained - the perfect pitch you might say. The site is the result of decades of experience and enthusiasm, as well as almost half a century of New Forest camping heritage. Stay here and you'll be just steps away from the New Forest's miles of walking and cycling trails, and but a moments walk to the award winning pub next door. And as well as the large grass tent, campervan and motorhome pitches, there are also several luxury bell tents for hire too. Take a dip in the nearby river Avon, or walk and cycle from the campsite gate. In the evening, you're welcome to light up a campfire, enjoy a Harry's Cocktail and stone baked pizza. Dogs and campfires welcome. No large groups though, sorry.

The site is open daily in May half term and for weekends only between 24th July and 31st August

Things to do on site and in the Fordingbridge area

The whole of the New Forest's renowned for its walking and cycle trails, and the area around Frogham's no exception. Many of the tracks in this part of the forest start here, and pass well-known pubs: the Harrys Field team reckons that the Royal Oak in Fritham and the High Corner Inn at Linwood (both around 15 minutes' drive) make particularly ace refuelling stops. Rather get around by hoof? A local riding stables is a few minutes' drive from the park.

A number of the New Forest's lovely towns and villages are well worth exploring, including:

  • Beaulieu
  • Brockenhurst
  • Burley
  • Fordingbridge
  • Lyndhurst
  • Ringwood

Salisbury is just 11 miles away and also well worth a visit.

Ready to rock those jelly shoes? Dip in the local river or its a doddle to get between here and the coast, with top beaches at Bournemouth (30 minutes), Mudeford (25 minutes) and Hengistbury Head (25 minutes) all within easy reach. Other popular seaside spots include Poole Harbour (40 minutes) and Brownsea Island (40 minutes plus a short ferry ride); head to the latter for a chance to see red squirrels in the wild.

Other local attractions include:

  • New Forest Water Park
  • Paulton's Park and Peppa Pig World
  • Blashford Lakes
  • Furzey Gardens
  • Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary
  • Hurst Castle
  • Ringwood Brewery
