About the site
A peaceful countryside campsite just five minutes from the New Forest National Park, set in 40 acres of Dorset countryside. Surrounded by nature and with two well-stocked fishing lakes, it's the perfect place to relax and unwind. The site is also just a 20 minute woodland walk from Alderholt village. There are grass electric pitches available for tents, caravans, campervans or motorhomes up to 8m long. These come with 10 amp smart-metered electric hook-ups. For a more weather-proof option, there are grass pitches with hardstanding bases underneath, plus electric, water and grey waste outlets. The fully serviced hardstanding pitches are even more equipped, with 16 amp smart-metered electric, water supply, grey waste drainage and hedging between pitches for a bit more privacy. Or, the large fully serviced grass pitches also offer electric, water and drainage, with plenty of space to spread out. For glamping, there is a shepherd's hut that sleeps up to three with a double bed and bunk beds (just bring your own bedding). There's a handy kitchenette with a kettle, toaster, fridge and microwave, plus outdoor seating and a shelter. Shared site facilities are just a short walk away. The Minstead and Linwood Lodges offer all the comforts of home. Each has a double room with an ensuite and a walk-in wardrobe, a twin room, a lounge with a TV and an electric fire, and a full kitchen with a dining area. Towels are the only thing you'll need to bring. Outside, there's a private patio with seating for relaxing in the sun. Foodies will love the Thai Kitchen Takeaway and Restaurant, open Wednesday to Saturday. Tuck into dishes like chicken satay, Pad Thai and Massaman curry, all made fresh with authentic flavours. The restaurant is dog friendly too, and while it doesn't serve alcohol, you're welcome to bring your own. Dogs are welcome across all parts of the site, with up to three pups allowed per pitch or unit. There's a dedicated dog walk around the fields and ponds, plus a woodland area where they can stretch their legs off-lead. Open fires aren't allowed, but you can still enjoy a BBQ as long as it's raised off the ground (gas and charcoal only). A handy shop also stocks essential ingredients like milk, eggs and butter.
Pitches and shepherd's huts are available between April and September. Serviced hardstanding pitches and lodges are available between March and October. Pitches from £25/night for 2 people.
