Located within 15 minutes of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Riverside Caravan Park is a beautifully manicured touring site, offering a relaxing retreat within easy reach of many local attractions. Caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents are welcome on all of the site's grass, hardstanding and fully serviced pitches. With onsite fishing and golf on offer at Bentham Golf Club, you will never be short of things to do!

About the site

Situated on the banks of the River Wenning, this family friendly touring site is ideal for those looking for a peaceful stay in the Yorkshire countryside. Within a 15 minute walk of the town of Bentham, you will be in easy reach of pubs and shops so you won't even need to use the car during your stay! Caravans, motorhomes and folding campers are welcome on all of the site's pitches. Pick between one of the 34 grass pitches and 15 hardstanding pitches, each with an electric hook up and TV point. There are also 12 fully serviced hardstanding pitches available, each with an electric, grey waste and water hook up. You will also have an adjacent gravel space, perfect for pitching up your awning or setting up your table and chairs for al fresco dining. The site is also great for keen fishermen, with a fully stocked fishing lake, and permits available for you to fish on the river, there is no better way to spend an easy-going afternoon. Fires are not allowed. Dogs are welcome, there is also a small exercise field available.

Grass pitches are open from 27th March to 31st October. Hardstanding pitches are open from 14th February until the end of the year. The site is closed over Christmas. Pitches from £28/night for 2 people.

Site facilities include separate male and female toilets. There are five toilet cubicles in the women's and four toilet cubicles and one urinal in the men's. There are eight shower cubicles which are unisex. The showers are automatic when you are standing under them and run for five minutes on and then five minutes off. There is a chair and hooks in each shower cubicle.

All of these facilities are located in one main facilities building which has underfloor heating. There are also hand dryers, lights above the sink mirrors, hair dryers, shaving sockets and a radio playing throughout the building.

External to the facilities block is also a disabled bathroom, family bathroom, chemical toilet, washing up area, utility room and a laundrette. In the family bathroom the hot water for the hip bath is coin operated.

For entertainment, there is also a play area, a games room, an information room and a library. WiFi is available across the site.

Guests can fish in the onsite fishing lake and the River Wenning which runs beside the site. Golf is available at Bentham Golf Club, less than a five minute drive away. The nearest shop and pub to the site are Co-op Food and Hoggs N Heifers in High Bentham, both a 15 minute walk away.

Great for everyone

Enjoy onsite fishing or golf, and stroll to the nearby pub after. Take pups to the exercise field or children to the play area, and visit nearby national parks.

Lots of work going on during the day. Tree felling then branch cutting. Appreciate this needs doing in the quiet months. It started quite early. We don't mind as we are early birds. If you want to rest beyond 8am not for you.

A superb venue and location. Warm, welcoming staff and great that they have a site Warden, who operates until 2200hrs. The facilities are fantastic - play areas, family games room, shop. The key stand out feature was the amazing bathroom/shower block - super clean, very modern and just wonderful after a day out on the Dales. Well done Team Riverside!🤩

Very clean and quiet site with fabulous facilities. Dog walks great but would have liked a secure dog field to let dog run free. Fishing lake looks great, which is why I booked, unfortunately high winds and constant rain put an end to that. Will visit again with a day permit to test it out.

Site rules

Guests are welcome to check-in from 1pm until 6pm. Check out is due by 11am on your final day.

Yes! Dogs are welcome across the range of pitches, with up to six per pitch. Dogs should be kept on leads at all times except for the exercise field situated along the river walk. Please note, breeds and crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act are not permitted.

BBQs are welcome but must be raised off the floor. Open fires and fire pits are not permitted.

There is a quiet policy between 10pm - 9am.

Awnings and gazebos are welcome, free of charge. Pup tents are not permitted.

Each pitch comes with a 16 amp hook up.

Yes. You can purchase permits to fish in the river (if you have an EA rod license) or the lake from the reception. There are 12 individual pegs dotted around the lake for guests.

A note from the site themselves...

Set up by our grandfather, local Farmer Bateman Marshall, in 1970, this is a true family run park. With the third generation now involved, we're still welcoming families into our family year on year.

The park started with a few basic touring facilities and has been sympathetically extended over the last 50 years to become the five star park it is now known as. We have the beauty of only being a short, safe walk from the bustling village of High Bentham yet you can retreat to your riverside location when you want to just enjoy the peace and quiet.

Things to do on site and in the Bentham area

Less than a five minute drive away you will find Bentham Golf Club where you will be able to get an exclusive discount. Enjoy a game on the 18 hole golf course, or spend and hour or two at the driving range perfecting your swing.

Fishermen will also be spoilt for choice. The site has a well-stocked lake with carp, rudd, roach and perch, along with direct access to the banks of the River Wenning where you can purchase a permit to fish.

Surrounded by national parks, this is also an ideal destination for keen walkers. A 15 minute drive will take you to the Yorkshire Dales National Park, offering unspoilt landscapes and plenty of charming pubs for a stop off.

A 20 minute drive will take you to the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a great spot for bird watching and cycling.
