About the site
Surrounded by open countryside and just off the A38, the campsite is perfectly placed for exploring both wild moorland and the sunny South Devon coast. Newton Abbot is only ten minutes away, and the beaches of Torquay and the English Riviera are around 25 minutes by car. There are non electric grass tent pitches, each allowing up to six people. The camping area is spacious, so even larger family tents are welcome. For tourers, there are private hardstanding and grass pitches with hedges in between for extra privacy. Seven of these are non electric, suitable for tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes. There are also 12 electric comfort pitches with 16 amp hook ups. For even more convenience, there are six fully serviced premier pitches measuring 13m x 9m which each include electric, fresh water and grey waste drainage. If glamping sounds more your style, there are four cosy bell tents, each sleeping up to four people. Inside, guests will find a proper double bed with bedding, rugs and comfy bean bags to relax on. Outside, there's seating and bunting. Bell tent guests can also enjoy a free cooked breakfast at the pub! The heart of the site is the Dartmoor Halfway Inn pub, open daily from 8am to 10pm, with food served throughout the day. Guests can tuck into a full English breakfast, tasty pub classics, light bites and traditional Sunday lunches. There's a beer garden and summer terrace too, perfect for enjoying a drink in the sunshine. Dogs can join in the fun, with up to two dogs permitted per pitch or bell tent. Please note, open fires and BBQs are not permitted.
Camping and touring is available from March to December, bell tents are available from April to the end of September. Pitches from £20/night for 2 people.
