About the site
Just ten minutes from Bakewell and Buxton, and 20 minutes from Ashbourne, this family friendly site offers a relaxing countryside escape with direct access to the Tissington and High Peak trails. Top attractions like Chatsworth House (20 minutes) and Poole's Cavern (15 minutes) are nearby too! The camping area is situated behind the award-winning pub, making it the ideal spot to refuel after a day of walking, cycling, or exploring. Spread across two levels are 19 non electric grass pitches, each with space for one car and seven non electric hardstanding pitches. There are standard pitches (6m x 8m), large pitches (8m x 10m), and super pitches (8m x 12). These are suitable for tents and small campervans up to 5.3m in length, with super pitches offering a picnic bench and a fire pit with a BBQ grill. Please note that motorhomes, caravans, and gazebos are not permitted. Anything larger than a VW camper will not be allowed onsite. A dedicated DofE field is also available for school groups, Scouts and DofE groups year round. During the main season (April to September), this field is open Sunday to Thursday only. The Bunk Barn features two twin rooms and two four person rooms. Three rooms are located on the first floor, with one four person bedroom on the ground floor. Guests also have access to a communal kitchen (on the first floor) and shared facilities on the ground floor, accessed via an external staircase. Up to two dogs are welcome to join your stay, and the pub is dog friendly too. BBQs and fire pits are welcome as long as they are raised off the ground.
Non electric grass pitches are open from April to October while the winter grass pitches and hardstanding pitches are open from November to March. Pitches from £10/night for 2 people.
