About the site

Take in the fabulous views over the Downs from your pitch at Stud Farm. If you're a traditional camper looking for some good ol' fashioned camping with basic facilities, to explore the sweeping countryside, the site has you covered. Pitches are on grass and suitable for tents and small campervans only (max 6 metres). Sorry, no caravans or motorhomes here. They are marked, allowing campers to choose which pitch they would like. The site welcomes everyone from backpackers to small campers. And, for large groups, the camping field can be hired for your gathering with an advanced booking. Well behaved dogs welcome but must be kept on a lead. Do note all under 21s must be accompanied by an adult.

A note from the site themselves...

We are so proud of our site with an ideal location just off the beautiful South Downs Way, set in an Area of Outstanding Beauty with breathtaking views. It is in a perfect location for hiking, cycling or a family break, being only a 30 minute walk from the seafront.

The site is purposefully basic, this is a real back to basics camping so do be prepared as we have no thrills here but that's just the way we like it!

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2025

Clean toilet and shower facilities. Fire pit was amazing and completed our night! It was a little annoying they squeezed another van in our allocated space with us, especially when there was plenty of space elsewhere as they blocked our view. Overall value for money :)

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback. All pitches are more than 10m x 10m which are very generous. I am wondering why you did not say anything to the wardens, if you felt that you didn't have enough space, as that's one of the things they are there for - I'm sure they would have helped to resolve your problem. Also some people tend to pitch behind the pitch post, which encroaches on two pitches instead of between the posts, not sure if this might have happened, which gives the impression of less space. We encourage that any issues be raised with the wardens on site as they can resolve 99.9% of any problems. I'm sorry if you felt that you couldn't approach the wardens.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesSep 2025

We booked last-minute and the lady in charge was very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a very quiet night in our campervan and a hot shower, The facilities were really clean. There were about 15 other vans/tents which was surprising as it wasn't during the holidays. Everyone was considerate and quiet after 10pm. The site is perched on the hill so tends to be windy and the views across to the coast are lovely.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay, and yes it can occasionally get windy on top of this high hill. It does state on our website that we are open to the elements - to help people decide to visit or not, but glad you enjoyed your stay.

Basic but adequate

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

Very basic site but a very good price, 35 minute walk down a pebble lane to coastal bus service into Brighton. £3 on bus to Brighton bus station. Quite a rural position on top of the cliffs! Looks an excellent walking spot to explore the area. Campsite basic, slight issue with showers if people are washing their camping utensils ect! Pressure drops to a slow drip instead of a spray! Only two male/female toilets, not an issue when we were there! Great owners who made sure everything was ok on our arrival.

Site's response

Thank you for your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the walks, and the view of the Downs and the Sea. The water pressure can occasionally drop, we do have an open clear policy which does state on our website about the water pressure to help people make an informed decision on whether to visit or not, however we are looking into improving this little problem. Many thanks.
