Medium Tent - Hardstanding Grass Tent PitchesAug 2025

We only stayed at Wagtail Park for one night. It was just perfect! Peter called the day before and was very informative, and extremely welcoming when we arrived, giving us lots of recommendations in the local area. The site was idyllic. It was the first time we camped with our 4 year old son and the camp was great for him. There was a cute little fairy garden, a beautiful fishing lake where the fishermen showed him their catches and chatted to us, and also some owls which were a cute addition! The toilets and showers were so clean. The location to York was great, we went to Monks Cross as we forgot a couple of bits, and ate at a Bella Italia 10 mins away at Clifton Moor. We were 9mins away from York Maze which was an amazing day out, then 30 mins from Flamingo Land which was our 2nd day out. So the location if you’re visiting any of these places, or York itself, is ideal. Highly recommend. It quiet, cute, and close to amenities. 10/10 Thank you!

Excellent! Look forward to my next visit!

Excellent host - SO incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the local area. Lovely space, clean and great facilities. Lovely that there’s a fishing lake too which is beautiful, and a long term resident who rescues owls. They also give you free membership of the local Working Man’s Club which, though I didn’t use just exudes the hospitality and strong community they have there. Would definitely stay again. Also, only 6 min drive to park n ride into York city centre with no hassle. Regular busses even on Sundays.

Great location

Fantastic campsite. We booked this as a last minute stopover, and really glad we did. Very clean, great campground, and friendly & caring owners.
