About the site

This adults-only site is set in peaceful North Yorkshire countryside, ideal for dog owners and walkers, with Skipwith Common just five minutes away. Enjoy local wildlife, farm animals, and a scenic rural setting just 20 minutes from historic York. Field House Farm offers: *Three spacious grass pitches and two hardstanding pitches, all with metered 16-amp electric hook-ups *Pitches are suitable for caravans, motorhomes, and campervans *Touring pitches are available exclusively to Caravan and Motorhome Club members Dogs must be kept on a lead or under close control at all times. Looking to leave the camping gear at home? Try the Honey Pod, a cosy glamping pod with a king-size bed, ensuite shower room, kitchenette, free WiFi, and countryside views. Outside, enjoy a private patio, seating area, and a fire pit for stargazing. For a roomier retreat, Owl Lodge offers a king-size bed, lounge, dining area, kitchen with dishwasher, bathroom with large walk-in shower. Towels and bedding are provided in both the pod and lodge. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome in the self-catering accommodation. A washer (£4), dryer (£4.50), pot washing area, and an external dog shower (20p per minute) are also available. This is a fantastic base for exploring Yorkshire, with Askham Bryan Wildlife Park just 20 minutes away and the North York Moors National Park within a 50-minute drive.

The onsite facilities included a heated shower and toilet block, with one unheated bathroom with just a toilet and sink. There is a dedicated dog exercise area for CAMC members only, dog wash, free WiFi, grey water and Elsan disposal points.

There is a small shop onsite that stocks ice creams, locally made snacks and handpainted glasses.

The closest shops to the site are a Morrisons Daily and a Spar, both five minutes away. The Drovers Arms is a pub serving food and drink daily, a 25 minute walk from the site.

A note from the site themselves...

Field House Farm has always been home — I was born here, and over the years we've worked hard to gently improve it while keeping its natural charm intact.

We have a real love for the wildlife that shares the land with us, from swallows and garden birds to the occasional rare visitor. Supporting nature through thoughtful choices, including the kind of accommodation we offer, is a big part of what we care about.

Our 12 acres are home to sheep, a couple of cows, and our well-behaved dogs, though they stay close to us and don't roam. It's a simple, peaceful life here, and we're proud to share a little bit of it with others who appreciate the same.

Site rules and policies

*This site's touring pitches are for Caravan and Motorhome Club members only.

*Up to two small dogs or one large dog are welcome in both accommodations, provided they are well-behaved, kept on a lead at all times, and never left unattended. Please contact us in advance if you'd like to bring other pets.

*Due to safety considerations, children under 14 are not permitted. Maximum two adults per unit.

*Please help us maintain a peaceful setting by observing quiet hours from 11pm to 8am.

*Guests are welcome to use the fire pit at Honey Pod responsibly and at their own risk. Never leave it unattended, and ensure it is fully extinguished before turning in.

*Smoking and vaping are strictly not permitted in or near the Honey Pod, Owl Lodge, or surrounding yard areas.

Things to do on site and in the York area

For your four legged friends, there is a designated paddock for dogs to be able to exercise safely in an enclosed space.

Skipwirth Common is a five minute drive away and has a scenic walking loop. The route is rated easy and takes approximately an hour and a half. There is also a car park available, and dogs must remain on leads due to wildlife.

York is a 20 minute drive away, where you can take in the local history with its museums, riverside walks, bars and restaurants.
