About Wild Boar Wood Campsite

Part of Pegs and Pitches Camping, this off-grid glamping site is located in private five-acre woodland near Haywards Heath, West Sussex. Guests are treated to a lovely woodland setting, a space for crackling fires, tweeting birds and den building. It's an ideal place to connect with the outdoors while being an easy reach of London and Brighton. The nine pre-erected 5m bell tents are set in a superb bluebell wood of 5 acres, where each has its own fire pit, grill for cooking on and picnic bench. Inside are comfy beds, cooking equipment and a bag of firewood to get you started. The site also has two faraway bell tents tucked away in seclusion - perfect for couples or families who want a little more privacy. Some of the bell tents are closer together for those coming in groups. Cars are parked away from the camping area so campers can relax in nature. It's ideal for families and groups to reconnect and renew friendships or chat with fellow campers around the campfire. Whole campsite bookings can also be made if you have a special occasion. Please note, the campsite is off-grid so has no electric. Campers will have a back to nature experience that won't easily be forgotten!

Bell Tent - Wild Glamping Bell TentsAug 2023

My daughter (10) and I had a lovely time at the campsite. It was a great base to go exploring and we actively looked forward to spending time in and around the tent. We built up a fire in our firepit every night, enjoyed the unique bucket showers and relaxed in the quiet. I will add, it is very rare to find somewhere this dark. If the sun went down and we turned out the lamps, I could not see AT ALL. As a place to get away from it, this rates very highly for me.

Bell Tent - Wild Glamping Bell TentsJul 2023

Came for a one night stay with 2 friends, plus my 11y/o and 8y/o for their first experience of camping, and we absolutely loved it. This was ideal as the tent was really well equipped and the perfect size for the 5 of us. The setting is beautiful and well worth having to carry bags down a short track to be car-free. It was raining when we arrived but the welcome was warm and the provision of covered areas around the tent meant we could quickly get in and keep everything dry. One the sun came out, the next door field provided some space for the kids to run and the grown ups that walk more sedately! We needed to buy more kindling so do come prepared for that, and bring plenty of lanterns for ambient light - one was provided but we needed more. Our tent was tucked away from the others a little which was lovely, some are a bit more open but on the plus side, closer to the facilities. As a heads up, there are fairly frequent planes flying over to and from Gatwick, it wasn't at all a problem but don't expect it to be silent/ nature sounds only at night. We didn't try the bucket showers but maybe next time! We'll definitely be back again.
