Just a ten minute drive from the start of the Howardian Hills and, beyond that, the North York Moors, this adult only, eco friendly touring park is a great base. Flaxton Meadows is set in the charming countryside and offers excellent facilities, a dog friendly nature trail and easy access to York's historic centre (around 15 mins away).

About Flaxton Meadows

This tranquil site is set within rolling farmland. Spot the site's friendly hens, or watch the ducks skim around the pond. There's a good chance of seeing hedgehogs too! There are a selection of secluded hardstanding touring pitches with 32 amp electric, surrounded by evergreen trees, and fully serviced pitches with 32 amp electric, water and waste connections. All pitches are generously sized so there's plenty of space for you to set up your table and chairs outside. Well behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

Flaxton Meadows is open from 01/03 to 31/10.

A note from the site themselves...

I have always been passionate about camping and love the outdoors. As a York Minster trained cabinet maker and joiner, the entire site has been built by myself. My father was a coal miner, and he encouraged hard work and ideas. My Grandad was a carpenter, and I followed in his footsteps.

I wanted to build a fantastic campsite that provides excellent access to York and the Yorkshire surrounding attractions. At Flaxton Meadows, I have incorporated many things that cannot be found in other campsites such as top quality showers and toilets.

In today's eco world, you can say that you have stayed at an eco campsite and made a huge contribution to the environment. There is a fantastic sense of community here as we don't pack campers and caravans in, so there's lots of space to enjoy the wildlife. You won't be disappointed!

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesSep 2023

Great site with large, very spacious fully serviced pitches. Very helpful staff, amenities very clean and up to standard, in fact better than most. On site bar opens at a reasonable hour, you can order from local establishments (i.e. pizza etc) and easy access from A64 in both directions. We really enjoyed our 2 night stay and guaranteed to return when we can.

This is the best and cleanest site we have stayed at. The site is beautiful, clean and tidy. The showers and toilets were spotless and there were hot showers. The staff are all friendly and helpful but we have to say a special thanks to Gavin who couldn't do enough for us. We will definitely be returning. Thankyou!

Single Axle Caravan - Fully Serviced Hardstanding PitchesJun 2023

A perfect stay. From booking our stay to arrival, we were kept up to date with all information and any queries answered promptly, even called on the day to advise that there may be a delay with us getting on site. We were met upon arrival by Martyn and Elaine, what a great couple! They showed us to our pitch ensuring we were acquainted with location of pitch services and the surrounding facilities. Throughout our stay they always met you with a smile and when we enquired about extending our stay by one more day it was sorted within 5 minutes. The site was spotless with all facilities top notch, the bar was a bonus and a welcome retreat in the evening for those that wished to take advantage of it. We will definitely be back in the near future and would recommend this peaceful and tranquil site knowing that you are not far away from many sights and attractions.

Site's response

Thank you for your fantastic review, it means a lot to the team to know you enjoyed your stay with us. We hope you will visit us again very soon.
