Happy Valley Camping offers a traditional, back to basics stay on a farm, 15 minutes from the Peak District and 30 minutes to Manchester city centre. The non electric grass pitches allow tents and small campervans, with a relaxed feel, no set pitch boundaries and fire pits for hire. Hazel Grove village, a farm shop, pubs, Brookside Miniature Railway and a train station are within a 20 minute walk, with Happy Valley Nature Reserve next door too!

About the site


This pop up campsite provides a simple base for exploring Cheshire, with views of Happy Valley Nature Reserve and the village of Hazel Grove within a 20 minute walk. You can spend days seeing the sights of Manchester (30 minutes) or enjoying scenic walks in the Peak District (15 minutes). The spacious flat camping field is home to a total of 53 non electric grass pitches. There is a relaxed atmosphere, with no set pitch boundaries or maximum number of guests per pitch. There are 50 pitches set aside for tents, trailer tents, and roof tents, with three allocated to small campervans. In the evening, you can toast marshmallows and make s'mores, with fire pits for hire and logs for sale. Raised BBQs are permitted too. Dogs can come along, with up to three dogs permitted per pitch. The surrounding countryside is ideal for walking routes. Please note, there are no onsite showers.

Open each weekend from the 11th April till the 24th August with one weekend off between the 20th - 23rd June.

Facilities include male and female toilets, along with an outdoor washing up area and water points. Fire pits are available for hire, with logs for sale. Please note, there are no showers.

For essentials, Norbury Farm Shop, Spar and Morrisons are within a 15 minute walk. The Fiveways pub is also within a 15 minute stroll.


A note from the site themselves...

We're a farming family ran sit, we love camping and the outdoors so we've made a little heaven camping spot to share with others. We had to diversify with the struggles of modern day farming and this is where our heart lies!

FAQ

There are no set check-in and check out times, so you are welcome to arrive whenever you would like and do the same at check out.

Yes! Up to three dogs per pitch are more than welcome. Dogs should be kept on leads, and a separate field is available for them to be let off.

Open fires are only permitted in raised fire pits. BBQs must also be raised off the ground.

Yes, this site allows awnings, gazebos, and pup tents. Pup tents must fit within the pitch and only be used for storage.

Hazel Grove train station is only a 20 minute walk away.

There are male and female toilets alongside an outdoor and washing up area with water points. Please note, there are no showers.

All noise needs to be turned down by 11pm to be respectful of other campers and surrounding neighbours.


Things to do on site and in the Stockport area

Right next to the site is Happy Valley Local Nature Reserve. This peaceful 17-hectare reserve is full of ancient woodland, including the Great Reddish Woods. Visitors might spot kingfishers, herons, and even woodland mammals. The reserve also forms part of the Ladybrook Valley Interest Trail, a scenic route that follows the brook through South Manchester.

Only ten minutes away is Bramhall Park, where you'll find beautiful gardens and woodland walks surrounding Bramall Hall, a Tudor manor with over 500 years of history. Inside the hall are features like Elizabethan ceilings and Victorian kitchens, while outside, the park offers peaceful paths and views of streams and lakes.

Just five minutes away is the village of Poynton. Here, you can explore Poynton Park, stroll around its large pool, or join the Middlewood Way, a green trail popular with walkers, cyclists and riders. The Macclesfield Canal also runs nearby, with a great mix of cafes, eateries, and shops in the town.

Just a 30 minute drive from the campsite is the city of Manchester, packed full of things to see and do. Whether you're into shopping, sports, music or museums, there's something for everyone. Explore the Science and Industry Museum, take a tour of Old Trafford or the Etihad Stadium, or wander through the Northern Quarter.
