About the site
Surrounded by countryside views, this quiet site is an ideal base for exploring the Peak District National Park! Enjoy easy access to popular walking and cycling routes, including the Tissington Trail, directly opposite the site. Onsite, there are 22 spacious grass pitches, all measuring 12m x 8m and suitable for tents, roof tents and small VW campervans (up to 5.3m). Ten pitches include a 10 amp electric hook up. The campsite is also available for exclusive hire, making it ideal for groups, private events and gatherings. A dedicated DofE area is available too. Although the Bull i' th' Thorn itself is now closed, the sister pub, The Royal Oak, is a cosy traditional pub just a ten minute walk or five minute drive away, serving home-cooked classics including steaks, pies, burgers and Sunday roasts. Don't forget to stop at Tagg Lane Dairy, a 15 minute walk away, with a selection of ice creams and gelatos made from their Jersey dairy herd. While visiting, spend your days discovering nearby towns such as Buxton (10 minutes), a historic spa town with an array of attractions, including Pavilion Gardens and Poole's Cavern, perfect for a family day out. Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell pudding, can also be reached within 15 minutes. Up to two dogs are permitted per pitch. Please keep them on leads. You can also bring your pup along to the local pub (10 minutes)! Raised BBQs and fire pits are welcome onsite.
