Beginning with the narrow Jaws of Borrowdale a spectacular valley opens out from the gorge. It's full of tempting pastures and worn dry stone walls. Campsites in Borrowdale are a haven for ramblers, who dawdle past the picturesque villages of Grange, Stonethwaite and Seatoller into the fells. Make time for the fascinating Glaramara House and wonder at the impressive Lodore Falls. The pleasing hamlet of Watendlath is owned by the National Trust.
