Catering mainly to couples, small groups and families, with limited but reliable facilities, camping is open throughout the summer holidays. Not only that, but there's a cosy glamping hut for two and hassle free bell tents. Enjoy a setting by one of North Devon's most stunning coasts famous for its surfing!

About Freshwell Camping
This site is a traditional tent-only campsite, where you can pitch your tent in the location of your choice. The main field looks over the whole of Croyde Bay, from the Ruda Holiday Park side of the bay. The campsite is only a two minute walk from the entrance to the beach and a 15 minute walk to Croyde village where you can find a number of pubs and restaurants for food and drink. There is no minimum stay for camping and the site is flexible regarding pitch bookings. So if you wish to stay an extra day because the weather is too good to leave, that's no problem. When it comes to a taste of all things glam by the seaside, you have the choice of a chic bell tent or a glamping hut for two.

The site offers limited but reliable set of facilities to suit small groups and families. The showers and toilets are checked and cleaned twice a day, along with a washing area for your cups and plates. There are also fresh water tubs for cleaning your wetsuits once out of the sea. Fires welcome in portable fire pits only. Good quality 3G signal on site and the option to charge gadgets.
You'll find cafés, pubs and restaurants within a 15 minute walk (the closest café is just 5 mins away) and a 10-15 minute drive takes you to supermarkets.

Lovely view of the beach from the tent. But shhh, don't tell everyone or I won't get in the next time I want to go. Sitting under the stars, campfire, a mug of hot chocolate and the sound of the waves. What more could you ask for?

We love walking and had just taken up body boarding. This site is amazingly situated for both. The site is relaxed and informal, with clean amenities.

Things to do on site and in the Croyde area
There are a number of outstanding beaches in the vicinity, including Croyde, Putsborough, Saunton and Woolacombe. Perfect for paddling, swimming, surfing and surf schools.
Other activities available locally include horse riding, fishing, tennis, yoga, fitness camps and climbing.
Coastal walks around the stunning National Trust Baggy Point are a must and the Exmoor National Park is only a 30 minute drive away, offering some of the best natural wildlife and landscape scenery in the UK.
