Things to do in Croyde
Renowned for its outstanding natural beauty, Croyde in north west Devon offers so much for families, groups and couples alike to explore.
Croyde Bay is a haven for surfing, with lessons at the Croyde Surf Academy or Surf South West on offer to test your skills. A range of other watersports are also available, though if you do visit in the summertime, look out for GoldCoast Oceanfest, a small surf and music festival.
Surrounding beaches go on for miles if you find Croyde Bay and nearby Woolacombe a bit busy in the summer months. The kids will love the white sand for building sandcastles and adults can relax in the sunshine, or perhaps take part in a game of volleyball organised by the Beach Volleyball School. Take a lesson to learn some skills?
Baggy Point is a fantastic walk along clifftops and will reward you with stunning views over Croyde Bay. The landscape is covered in pretty flowers during the summer months. The whole village and surrounding area is within the North Devon AONB and boasts superb natural scenery.
Roylands Riding School offers tuition for all ability levels, while back in the village there is a buzzing atmosphere with lots to keep you entertained. You could decide to check out the mix of local pubs or even catch a film at the Croyde Deckchair Cinema. The whole place has a traditional feel with a modern twist and a great selection of shops to buy souvenirs.
Barnstaple is less than half an hour by car and is a good day trip option. Bideford too has lots of activities for the whole family including The BIG Sheep and Atlantis Activity Centre, which is a great rainy day choice.
