Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field)Jul 2023

A friendly campsite, with amazing views. Nobody blasting music out all night or drunken antics. The toilets could have done with a decent clean, but other than that it was a great place to stay.

Breathtaking views and blissfully chilled

Twin Axle Caravan - Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field)Jul 2023

The perfect getaway to properly switch off. I booked this for my husband's birthday and we stayed here with our dog. The site is situated right on the coastal path with the best views over the Irish Sea and over to Abereiddy. The reception staff were great and the facilities were perfect.

Fantastic stay at Celtic Camping. From the moment we arrived, we were made for feel very welcome. Lovely staff, very knowledgeable of the area and happy to provide us with all the information we needed to explore the area, including a weather forecast for each day. The pitches were well maintained and had fabulous sea views and we were lucky to have some incredible sunsets during our stay. The facilities were good, we particularly liked the large common room, which has ample sedating for those rainier days. Location was perfect, with a short walk to the blue lagoon and access to the Welsh coastal path. Overall a fantastic stay, we would definitely recommend and hope to plan a trip again soon.

Outstanding view and beautiful walks along the cliff

If you are looking for a remote camping site away from it all! Celtic camping is perfect, this is a huge site close to the blue lagoon, the views are incredible and the cliff top walk is stunning, the sunset and sunrise are def not to be missed. Location is very close to St David's which is a stunning little city, however, the facilities are limited. They have shower blocks which are ok but there is no shop or any other facility, make sure you bring what you need for the evening as it's located on a small country lane and a 4-mile walk into St David's. But def recommend a stay here for the remoteness and view x

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)May 2023

First the positives - the view is amazing and the location fantastic - an hour walk to the Blue Lagoon and a 10 min drive to St Davids. Negatives - It was filthy. Two toilet blocks are not enough for the number of people staying there (must have been into the hundreds). The staff cannot keep up with the cleaning after this many people. People didn't seem to care that there were others wanting to use the facilities after them. People were observed washing their feet in the bathroom sinks and then not cleaning up after themselves, plus washing food waste into the sinks which caused blockages. To quote another camper (unrelated to us) "I don't know what's the matter with people". We could not get out of there fast enough. The rubbish was being blown out of the recycling skips all over the site. Goodness knows what it will be like in the height of summer. Will not be returning. If I could enter zero stars for cleanliness and facilities, then I would.

I would definitely recommend a visit here. Only issue I had was someone with a German shepherd did not have control of their dog and attempted to attack my Labrador. People need to take responsibility as there were several children and dogs nearby. The place was breathtakingly beautiful, the walks endless and the quiet was priceless. Great value for money - will definitely return.

Perfect location with a coastal stroll to Blue Lagoon. 10 minutes drive from St David's cathedral, 15 minutes to beautiful Solva harbour and Newgale beach. Campsite was great, but open to elements on windy days, the view is spectacular and there is a large communal area that can be used. Showers were great, but needed a few more toilets due to the size of the site Will definitely return.

Lovely friendly site. It's a bit remote and you need to use the car a lot. Ideal for walkers and people who like to do outdoor activities. The campsite is spotless, toilet/shower area was clean and tidy. I had the pleasure to meet the cleaner, Jacqueline, whom was very polite and approachable.

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Quiet Field)May 2023

Never been before. Turned up and once we saw the map of the place, asked if we could switch fields because the quiet field had no views etc and was a fair walk from the toilets. Was told a firm no so really disappointed with the service I received. There was nothing on the site - just toilets showers etc. St David's was ok. The noise on Friday night from the main field was unbelievable and on the last night, a group of young lads turned up late to pitch tents in the dark and woke us up. The costal walks however, are absolutely stunning. We saw a seal as well so that did make up for the rest of it. My suggestion is put a map on so you can see the layout of the site.

A big thumbs up

Small Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Quiet Field)May 2023

The site is located by the ocean with stunning views. It is free from litter and staff are very kind and helpful. There were only a couple of drawbacks - firstly it was advertised that a canteen area would be available, however we could not get access to it when we tried. Secondly, before we left we stopped at a water point, my girlfriend stepped in some dog mess that was in the overgrown grass surrounding the tap. A very kind cleaner called Jaqueline came to the rescue and really helped by lending us cleaning products and gloves. She was happy to help and was a pleasure to talk to. Overall we had a really nice time and would happily go back.

Quiet, with great views and access!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Amphitheatre Field) May 2023

Every year, my partner and I go camping to celebrate my birthday. This year we chose to come to West Wales and were very impressed by our stay at Celtic Camping. They have a variety of pitches with various access, full hygiene facilities, and dumpsters marked for differing recycling and waste. Overall, I would say our stay was a 4.5 out of 5 only due to an out of order shower and a few times it wasn't always cleaned out. However, with the amount of people staying over the holiday weekend, it is completely forgivable, just something we noted. They have access to the coastal walk and it is a 10 minute drive into St. David's for meals out town or tours.

Incredibly friendly staff, I met Ian and Jacqueline who could not have been more welcoming. Facilities were amazing and clean, and having dinner and breakfast available on site made things convenient when we needed to eat quickly. Showers didn't need an old coin system which was great too. Will definitely be coming back soon.

Great site right near the beach, staff were really friendly and helpful, and lots of space so it didn't feel like everyone was on top of each other.

Site's response

Hi Adam, Thanks for your review. It's good to hear you felt you had plenty of space. We've altered our booking process to designate pitches this year, so it's good to hear its working. Hopefully, see you again soon.

VW-Type Campervan - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)Apr 2023

Stunning views and coastal walks from the site. Very friendly staff, lovely clean facilities. There is a large room where you can cook and chill out if the weather is bad. Only grumble is that the only toilets are by reception as you come in. The fields are large and with no lighting at all, so it is a very long walk in the dark if you need to nip to the toilet. Luckily, we took head torches 🔦 with us. Other than that, highly recommended 👌

The week I stayed, there was hardly anyone on the site so it was very peaceful. The walks are breath-taking. It's wet season, so luckily I left in time. One oft the best places I've stayed for peacefulness.

Site's response

It's great to hear that you had a relaxing and peaceful stay and managed to enjoy some walks, taking in the spectacular scenery we have on our doorstep.
