About Celtic Camping

If you want a site that is large (spread over several fields) and relaxed then you will get just what you are looking for. The site is located on 250 acre working National Trust farm of Pwll Caerog. Being based just ten minutes from the popular city of St Davids you will be blessed with spectacular sea views. You can choose where to pitch and which field you prefer - customers have the ability to select a location on-site that is right for them and meets their holiday requirements. Just simply decide whether you want to be by the sea or maybe near the facilities, explore the site map and choose where is best for you. The site has a great range of pitches, all welcoming tents and tourers and up to ten guests. Decide whether you want your grass pitch with a 16 amp electric hook up or without. This rustic campsite is an ideal base for visitors to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the surrounding area. The site is just 500 metres from a pebble rocky cove, which is located at the base of the farm and is accessed via a small scramble down the coastal path. This relaxed site offers a spacious camping area with oodles of open space and numerous electric hook-up points set over several large camping fields. There are ample showers and toilets and two communal dining areas that can be used by campers should the weather become a little blustery. You will enjoy stunning coastal views of the Irish Sea across the whole site and sunsets that are truly amazing.

Celtic Camping is open all year round.

A note from the site themselves...

Back in October of 1999, Ian and Judy Griffiths became the first tenants for the National Trust on their newly acquired working farm called 'Pwll Caerog'. Pwll Caerogs'. The stunning views across the sea gave Ian and Judy the idea to share this wonderful spot by opening up their home as a B and B in the summer of 1992.

Soon after, the campsite opened and Celtic Camping was soon established. The business has organically grown since the beginning and has slowly developed since. It is still very much a working farm with grazing cattle, a logs business and a variety of crops, such as malting barley and potatoes, growing onsite.

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)Apr 2023

My friend attend this campsite in 2022, I had no idea it was the same campsite he had been raving about, I guess great minds think alike plus the location is hand and feet above all the other camp sites. There were about 500 pitches and lots of electric hook up points - ideal if you have an EV. It was a wonderful experience at this campsite! This site has a lot to offer for those looking to combine outdoor adventures with amenities just a short walk, cycle or drive away. The fact that the site is located on a working farm with teaching and sports training adds a unique element to the experience, and it's shared facilities are well-maintained and offer a range of activities. The ability to have open fires with a fire pit is always a bonus, and the requirement to purchase local wood is a nice touch that supports the local economy. It's also great to know that the campsite is run by the local Coxswain of the RNLI, and that donations to the St David Lifeboat are encouraged. Lastly, the fact that the campsite is located just a few miles away from St Davids with reasonably priced shops adds to the convenience of the experience. Overall, this campsite is a great choice for those looking for a balance of adventure and comfort. The combination of great facilities, beautiful views, and the option to support a local cause make this site a top choice.

Super campsite!

Medium Tent - Non Electric Grass Pitches (Upper Abereiddi Field) Jul 2022

Celtic Camping was a dream, just what we were looking for. Very friendly welcome at reception with information about the site and the local area. There was so much space to choose to put your tent, we were spoilt for choice. No marked out pitches - just fabulous, huge fields, so has lots of capacity whilst still having your 'own' space. We loved the easy going atmosphere, no signs about 'can and can't do this', dog-friendly and children-friendly. The owners are very trusting of their customers, which is a really refreshing change. The facilities are excellent, and well thought out. There is space inside if the weather isn't good, a large barn with tables and benches, kettles, toasters and microwaves. There's also another indoor space for kids to go and play, what a great idea. Lovely toilet block with hot showers whatever the time of day, which also applies to the washing-up facilities. We will definitely book Celtic camping again and will recommend to family and friends. Well done and continue the great job you're doing. Super campsite!
