About the site


Enjoy this spacious, family friendly site set in the scenic North York Moors National Park, less than five minutes from the village of Osmotherley! Kids can make the most of two onsite play areas with climbing frames, swings, sand, and more. There are also nature trails surrounding the site, and for those wanting to cycle, head to Over Silton, Swainby Shooting House, Roseberry Topping, and Captain Cook Monument, all with routes starting directly from the site! Guests can opt for solo grass or hardstanding pitches for tents and tourers or electric grass pitches all equipped with a 10 amp electric hook up, suitable for tents, caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. There are also hardstanding, all weather pitches with a 10 amp electric hook up, for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. Or, choose an all weather hardstanding super pitch equipped with a 16 amp electric hook up, water supply, and TV connection point, for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes. If you fancy something a little comfier than traditional camping, there are bell tents available, equipped with four single mattresses, an indoor table, furniture, kettle, electric, and a bin. Outside, you'll find a picnic bench and electric fire. Please bring your own bedding. Enjoy a hearty meal at the onsite restaurant/bar, grab a snack from the well stocked shop, or unwind in the sauna. Days out can be spent exploring Preston Park Museum and Grounds, just a 25 minute drive away, or enjoy coastal walks along the sandy Saltburn Beach, a 40 minute drive from the site. One dog per booking is permitted onsite!

There are two facility blocks. Larch Block, which contains unisex, private user controlled power showers, wash cubicles, toilets, and wash cubicles with underfloor heating, hair and hand dryers, USB and shaver points. There is also a family room with toilets, shower, and baby changing unit. You will find a suana (open from 9:15-7pm), a dog washing/grooming station, and a washing up area.

Ceder Block is equipped with unisex toilets, private showers, underfloor heating, hair and hand dryers, and shaver points. There are accessible facilities and another family shower room with a toilet, bath, shower, and a baby changing unit. You will find a laundry room with a washing machine, dryer, iron, and ironing board, a washing up area with four sinks and drainers, and a drying cabinet.

Children can enjoy two play areas with climbing frames, swings, slides, and more. On warmer days, there is a stream to paddle and play in. A football field and nature trail is also available onsite.

If you fancy a bite to eat, head to the Mill Kitchen, serving breakfast and evening meals between 8am-8pm (takeaway options are available). Drinks are available between 5pm-9pm. For camping essentials, there is a well stocked shop onsite at the reception.

Things to do on site and in the Northallerton area

Preston Park Museum and Grounds is a 25 minute drive from the site, a Georgian mansion with riverside grounds, local history, and great spots for walks. For wildlife spotting, visit Thorp Perrow - Arboretum and Bird of Prey and Mammal Centre (35 minutes) where you can spend the day spotting birds of prey, animal collections, and rare trees. There is also a tea room if you fancy a drink.

Mother Shipton's Cave (40 minutes) makes for a great day of fun, with a play area, shop, storytelling, and a legendary cave linked to witches. Helmsley Castle (40 minutes) is a must-see for history lovers, a 900-year-old castle with guided archaeological tours, gardens, ruins, and fascinating artefacts.

As the site is located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, you are well positioned for exploring moorlands, river valleys, scenic hikes, cycling, and peaceful walking routes. If you fancy heading along the Yorkshire coast, the popular Saltburn Beach is 40 minutes away and is a ideal family day out spot.
