Nestled along the River Wharfe, Masons Campsite offers fun activities to go with its riverside pitches. You can fish, paddles with the kiddies, wild swim or join a network of foot paths that let you explore the incredible Yorkshire Dales. Whether you choose to camp or get chic in a yurt or safari tent, it's all dog friendly.

About Masons Campsite

Run by a friendly team who love camping themselves, Masons has all the right ingredients for a great stay. It's just a stroll from local village amenities (five minutes) and is based in the southern Dales. There are two camping fields to choose from. The first, the Main Field, can take tents, caravans, motorhomes or campervans and each pitch has electric. Alternatively, tents and small campervans can also pitch up in the River Field without electric. Feeling glam? There's a stunning River View Yurt to tempt you, including real beds and cosy furnishings, plus the Deluxe Yurt with its Bohemian vibe and pallet beds. Both include a log stove and the bits and bobs you need to rustle up a meal or a hot drink. Even more spacious and ideal for families is the safari tent, with its charming veranda and furnished space to sleep six. Dogs are welcome to join you wherever you stay!

Open from 1 March to 31 October

Head downstream from the site and you'll find a fantastic wild swimming spot, accessed directly from site. The river also provides a lovely spot for kids to play and paddle (under your watchful eye) and you might even catch a fish to cook on the fire pit once the sun goes down.

Don't miss the majestic shape of nearby Bolton Abbey - an incredible sight at sundown - and the views of Simon's Seat from the village will be enough to turn anyone into a walker. A good thing, too, because the Dales are rife with biking and walking routes.

Other great spots to explore:

  • Skipton Castle
  • Bolton Priory
  • Embsay and Bolton Abbey Steam Railway
