About the site
If you want a site that is large (spread over several fields) and relaxed then you will get just what you are looking for. The site is located on 250 acre working National Trust farm of Pwll Caerog. Being based just ten minutes from the popular city of St Davids you will be blessed with spectacular sea views.
You can choose where to pitch and which field you prefer - customers have the ability to select a location on-site that is right for them and meets their holiday requirements. Just simply decide whether you want to be by the sea or maybe near the facilities, explore the site map and choose where is best for you.
The site has a great range of pitches, all welcoming tents and tourers and up to ten guests. Decide whether you want your grass pitch with a 16 amp electric hook up or without.
This rustic campsite is an ideal base for visitors to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and the surrounding area. The site is just 500 metres from a pebble rocky cove, which is located at the base of the farm and is accessed via a small scramble down the coastal path.
This relaxed site offers a spacious camping area with oodles of open space and numerous electric hook-up points set over several large camping fields. There are ample showers and toilets and two communal dining areas that can be used by campers should the weather become a little blustery.
You will enjoy stunning coastal views of the Irish Sea across the whole site and sunsets that are truly amazing.

Facilities include a large and well maintained shower and toilet block, a laundry with washer and dryer, and a large indoor dining hall with kettles, toasters, fridges and freezers. Wi-Fi is available across the site for a small fee. The communal barn helps set the site apart, providing somewhere for campers to cook, eat and wash up if the weather makes doing that outside a chore.
A local bus service passes the site's entrance. Porthgain harbour is 10 mins away with award winning fish and chips at The Shed and the historic Sloop Inn pub.
A note from the site themselves...
Back in October of 1999, Ian and Judy Griffiths became the first tenants for the National Trust on their newly acquired working farm called 'Pwll Caerog'. Pwll Caerogs'. The stunning views across the sea gave Ian and Judy the idea to share this wonderful spot by opening up their home as a B and B in the summer of 1992.
Soon after, the campsite opened and Celtic Camping was soon established. The business has organically grown since the beginning and has slowly developed since. It is still very much a working farm with grazing cattle, a logs business and a variety of crops, such as malting barley and potatoes, growing onsite.

Motorhome - Electric Grass Pitches (Lower Abereiddi Field)May 2025
Perched on top of the cliffs, this campsite has stunning views and also offers the opportunity of climbing down to the coves to seal spot. Reception was still open at 7pm when we arrived on the Friday, so this helped us immensely and finding our spot was easy.
We were in a motorhome but if you are camping, it was nice to see a big room available for eating should the weather take a down turn. This May Bank Holiday was very windy, so many campers took advantage of this.
Reception helped us get a taxi into St. David's (no buses on a Sunday), only I would suggest paying in cash as the Wi-Fi service at this campsite is not very good and making phone calls home was difficult; but equally, it helped us to completely switch off.
Showers are clean but basic, but they do the job.
Stunning views and large site
