About the site

This is an easily accessible site, central to Yorkshire's coastal areas, moors and forestry, in a dog friendly area and with plenty of visitor attractions nearby. Perfect for any self described 'dog mad' owners, this doggie heaven is off-lead in all areas, therefore all dogs are required to be sociable, with owners being responsible for their dogs at all times. The site is all about the dogs! There is a range of play equipment, trampolines, swings, hay loft, jumps etc., plus agility equipment for all sized dogs, a large undercover ball pool and a freshwater stream. The indoor area houses the reception and shop for dog treats, ice, drinks and essentials. There is a lounge with a coffee shop, camp kitchen, dog wash and groom room, toilets and showers. Campers can access the dog facilities 24/7. Just ten miles from Scarborough, the park is set back off the main A64 and easy to find with good local amenities. The campsite is a grassy seven acre field within an 11+ acre site, far enough from the road to allow a tranquil setting, with a stream and former mill race. The property has been established on sandbanks and therefore drains quickly and is never muddy. The field is divided with 1/3rd for camping and the remainder for the dogs to play. All pitches are on grass with half having hook ups which are metered.

The clubhouse houses a reception area with shop, coffee lounge and indoor play area, kitchen and toilet and shower facilities.

A full play area including natural log jumps, climbing frame with slide, trampolines, ball games and a pool is provided, plus an agility course for canines and their owners.

The local village, just a few minutes walk away, provides two general stores, a dog friendly pub and a fish and chip shop. The nearest supermarket is 10 minutes drive.

A note from the site themselves...

Cool K9 has been developed through a love of dogs and is the only site of its kind where dogs come first and even the dog's realize it is for them.

It has been created for dogs to enjoy and make new doggy friends and to provide interaction between dogs and owners with new play experiences to try.

Site rules and policies

All terms are agreed at the time of booking.

Full cost is payable at the time of booking.

Upon arrival please report to reception. Please park extra cars in the parking area outside the camping field.

Arrival time: 2pm onwards, please advise if a late arrival after 6pm is anticipated.

Departure: By 11.30am.

We are open to day visitors, times and charges are available on the website.

Owners are responsible for their dogs at all times, Dogs are allowed in all areas with the exception of the toilets/showers.

Dogs should be secured at night, and all noise kept to a minimum.

Black bins are placed around the site for dog waste, please ensure you clean up after your dog/s.

Please do not drop cigarette butts and litter on the fields.

Lighting is kept to a minimum around the park and the use of a torch is advisable after dusk.

Individual campfires are not permitted, there is a central firepit should anyone wish to use it. Wood and accessories are available in the shop.

Please do not hang or attach any items to the fencing, it is there for the safety of the dogs.

Rubbish should be disposed of in the bins provided.

All inside areas are 'no smoking'.

Please report any problems immediately, so we have chance to rectify the problem, no complaints will be dealt with after your visit.

Management accepts no responsibility for any loss, theft or injury, however caused or sustained.

Things to do on site and in the Malton area

Fun on site for your dogs including: agility, play equipment, games and much more followed by a cool off in the stream or a doggy ice cream in the lounge.

There is a large play area and a stream, which four legged friends love. Use the agility course should you wish to refresh your skills or just 'give it a try' if you have an energetic dog, The field is ideal for many dog activities and there are always new things for your dog(s) to enjoy.

For dogs that like to get out and about, visit some of the many varied local dog attractions and miles of sandy beaches - some dog friendly all year. There's an abundance of moorland and forests where you can walk all day, don't forget to stop in a quaint village for some refreshment too. There are lots of dog friendly places for tit bits.

The campsite has full camping facilities, with large pitches and nice views to the Yorkshire Wolds.

Cool K9 is ideally situated for Scarborough, Filey, Bridlington, and Whitby along the coast, as well as the market towns of Malton, Pickering, Driffield, Helmsley and the city of York.

Attractions include: Flamingo Land Theme Park, Eden Camp War Museum, Whitby Abbey, North Yorkshire Moors Railway, Castle Howard, and Scarborough Sealife Centre.

The area is a great location for hiking, cycling, fishing, surfing, horse riding and much more and home to professional golf courses and motorcycle races.
