About the site

If you're on the hunt for a fun-filled but relaxing family getaway in the New Forest, this could be the perfect spot. Combining picturesque surroundings with exciting outdoor adventures, you are sure to have a stay you won't forget. Tents and tourers are welcome across the spacious site with a range of pitches allowing up to six guests each. Tent campers can pick between the 8m x 8m non electric (pet friendly) and 7m x 9m electric pitches set in the shaded woodland area, ideal for sheltering from the sun. If you would rather be by the lakeside, there are also both 8m x 9m non electric and electric grass pitches available, each suitable for tents, trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes. Tourers also have the option of 8m x 9m hardstanding and grass pitches (dog friendly), each with a 16 amp hook up. In addition to tents, caravans and campervans, there is a selection of lodges nestled into the woodland landscape. Lodges sleep from 6-14 people and come fully equipped for a comfortable stay. If you want to enjoy a night in the outdoors, bring along your BBQ, just ensure it is raised from the ground. There are also communal fire pits available to hire across the site, with fire wood and coal available to purchase. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome in the pet friendly areas.

Pleasant stay at a well-maintained and friendly campsite

Medium Tent - Electric Grass Lake View PitchesMay 2025

Overall, we had a great experience at the campsite - the site was well-maintained and clean, making for a pleasant stay. That said, I believe there are a couple of areas where small improvements could enhance the guest experience: I had reserved three pitches (2 non-electric and 1 electric), but upon arrival, I was informed that all three were non-electric. While I appreciate the staff's effort to accommodate us with a spare pitch, a more accurate booking confirmation could have allowed us a better choice of pitch location. Improving the clarity and accuracy of the booking process would really help avoid such surprises. The shower and toilet facilities were clean and well-kept, but on a few occasions, the toilet paper had run out in some cubicles. Regular checks throughout the day would ensure supplies are always available for guests. Despite these minor issues, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore the onsite activities during this visit, but we're definitely looking forward to trying them out on our next trip.

A great location in the New Forest

Large Tent - Electric Grass and Earth Tent Pitches May 2025

This was a great location in the New Forest. We had an electric pitch. The toilet and shower facilities were at times crowded and could do with being extended. The site itself was clean and tidy. The cafe was basic but very good. This site is mostly suited to families with younger children. Would only recommend to families with younger children.

We enjoyed our stay despite the basic amenities

Large Tent - Non Electric Lake View Grass Pitches May 2025

Provide quieter pitches for families with kids who sleep early. The house and grounds need maintenance, likely due to low profits. The café is small but excellent. The toilets and showers feel crowded and could be updated and extended. We enjoyed our stay despite the basic amenities, but we wouldn't recommend it.
