The park enjoys a fantastic location for exploring The Lake District, less than ten minutes from the top of Lake Windermere. The site is also surrounded by woodlands, with over 100 acres of walking trails to explore, along with a nature hide and a four acre recreation ground. For trailer tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes, there are 130 hardstanding 6m x 8m pitches with optional 16 amp electric hook up. Or, you can upgrade to one of the 30 premium hardstanding 9m x 12m pitches with water, grey waste drainage, optional 16 amp electric, TV hook up and picnic bench, plus access to eco dishwashers (one token per night). For glamping, the Hideaway Ensuite Pod is ideal for two guests. It has a comfy double sofa bed, a foldaway dining table and a well-equipped kitchen area with everything needed for easy meals. Guests will also find heating and a flat-screen TV. The Family Hideaway Pods offer more space and are great for families. They come with two double beds and an optional mezzanine sleeping area with single beds for children. There's a cosy lounge area with a TV and WiFi, plus gas heating to keep things warm. The Wagtail Family Pod has the same layout as the family pods, but it also welcomes dogs, making it a great choice for pet friendly breaks. The Safari Tents include a super king-size bed, bunk beds, comfy seating, indoor heaters, flat-screen TVs and USB charging points. The Luxury Safari Tents are adult only and feature private hot tubs on their balconies, along with stylish living areas, queen-size bedrooms and modern bathrooms. All accommodation onsite includes fresh bedding, soft towels and basic toiletries, so guests don't need to pack the extras. Each unit also has its own ensuite bathroom and a fully equipped kitchen area, making self-catering simple. Outside, guests can make the most of decking areas with outdoor furniture, shared and private BBQ spaces and fire pits. There is a large, well-stocked shop featuring everyday essentials as well as lots of locally sourced produce and gifts. Kids can spend hours at the play area, with a 30m long zip wire, an all weather basketball/football court, climbing frames and swings. Dogs are also welcome, with up to three permitted per pitch. For glamping, the Wagtail and family safari tents allow pups. The surrounding routes are perfect for exploring, with a dog shower for muddy paws afterwards! In the evening, you can cook up a BBQ, just please ensure they are raised from the ground, and not placed on a bench or decking area. Please note, open fires and wood burning BBQs are not allowed.

We arrived on Saturday, 40 minutes before the shop closed, and were disappointed there are no on site restaurants. The check in is weird - check in, drive & pick empty spot, then come back to tell reception spot number. We didn't have a pen, reception was closing and it was a long walk back.
