About the site

Situated on the edge of Ashurst and dotted with ancient oaks, this family friendly campsite offers a true forest experience. Surrounded by the scenic trails and wildlife of the New Forest, yet just 15 minutes from Southampton and attractions like Paultons Park Home of Peppa Pig World, you truly get the best of both worlds. The site boasts 210 standard non electric pitches, ranging from open spaces to peaceful secluded spots amongst the trees. Each pitch measures 9m x 9m for up to six guests, with the option of grass pitches for tents and tourers, along with hardstanding just for tourers. There are also pitches available for seasonal use. If you want to leave the tent pegs at home, opt for the cosy bell tents that sleeps up to two adults and two children. Inside you will find a double bed, two single beds, LED lighting, flooring, a cool box, cutlery and crockery. Outside will be a picnic bench, along with a coal BBQ and utensils for cooking up a delicious dinner. Please note, bedding and cook equipment are not provided. Campers are also welcome to bring along their own BBQ, as long as it is raised from the ground and either gas or charcoal. Fire pits and disposable BBQs are prohibited. The site is dog free to protect nesting ground birds. Please note, the campsite is located just off the A35 so guests pitching near the road may experience a little noise.

The site is open between April and September and bell tents from 22nd May. Pitches from £24/night for 2 people.

There's also a launderette and an indoor washing up area with several sinks. Guests will have access to an area to lock their bikes up as well as charging lockers for small batteries and mobile phones.

The village of Ashurst is just a five minute stroll away with shops, pubs and restaurants. The Happy Cheese is also within a ten minute walk.

The New Forest, Ashurst pub and train station are situated five minutes from the site with direct trains to London and Bournemouth, stopping at Southampton.

Having purchased a new tent, we headed to Ashurst for the night to test it out. The team onsite are friendly and approachable. We arrived and were given clear information about campsite expectations, which were upheld by all. The central toilet / washing facilities are well maintained and clean. There is a good number of toilet cubicles and separate sink cubicles. Overall the site is incredible clean. As a New Forest campsite it is great to feel surrounded by nature - from the ponies during the day to the owls at night. Will be visiting again.

The New Forest and surrounding area offers visitors a whole range of fun activities and family days out to enjoy. You can go horse riding and cycling in the forest or head a little further afield to one of the area's many attractions.

If you haven't brought your own bike, you can hire them in Lyndhurst, just over a five minute drive away.
