About the site
A relaxed camping and glamping site in Somerset, within an easy five minute drive to the spectacular Cheddar Gorge. The mantra at Petruth Paddocks is that while people may not remember exactly what you did or what you said, they will never forget how you made them feel. Just bring your tent, speak with the owners for recommendations on pitching, then pitch up on the spacious camping fields wherever you choose. The owners encourage a sensible approach to pitches so young couples aren't put next to a lively family, and quiet families aren't pitched next to hen parties. There are also some exciting glamping options available. The shepherd's huts are stylish and hand-built locally. These are complete with either two or four double mattresses, full bedding and electric points for the mod-cons - make yourselves right at home! Opt for fantastic bell tents with electricity if you prefer the camping experience without the hassle. All you need to bring is your own bed, bedding and camping equipment. For a unique experience, opt for the American School Bus! Complete with everything you need, it's great for all ages. This unique accommodation is equipped with a double bed, two bunk beds and a single futon. There is also a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table, an ensuite bathroom, a BBQ, heating and charging points to charge all your gadgets. Or, keep it quirky with the Yellow Submarine! A unique glamping experience with real portholes, dials and gauges, the kids are sure to love it! The submarine is equipped with a double bed, a single bunkbed and a sofa that converts to another single. Bedding is provided. There is a galley kitchen for all of your cooking needs and even a BBQ outside. Stay in a Gypsy Bowtops, where each interior is decorated differently. Sleeping up to four, each is equipped with two double mattresses, a table, a kitchen and USB charging points. All cooking is done outdoors, and there is a table for al fresco dining in the evenings. The team at Petruth Paddocks is passionate about enabling young people to experience the joy of adventure that running around fields and making new friends can bring. Parents can relax, switch off from the rat race and enjoy the outdoor life watching their children from afar, safely enjoying the simple things in life, just like they did growing up. You'll often see Jules and the rest of the family chatting around the campfire with visitors, hearing guest stories. Guests love the site's approach, with no unnecessary rules (just sensible ones) and a genuine interest in their well-being. Dogs are welcome.
The site is open all year, except for the bell tents and yellow submarine which are available from April to October, the school bus from April until November. Pitches from £28/night for 2 people.
