Preseli Glamping is a peaceful hideaway on the North Pembrokeshire Coast with dramatic views over the ancient wooded valley down to the coastline. Ideal for families, the site offers 14 grassy private camping pitches, two campervan pitches with hardstanding and grass, all fringed with wildflowers, whilst a geodesic dome lies in a woodland clearing. A short walk away is a remote beach with clear waters and incredible wild scenery! Dogs welcome.

About the site

If you are wanting to get back to nature or enjoy adventures and relaxing with loved ones, this could be the ideal site. Nestled on a hillside, the site enjoys picturesque views over the neighbouring countryside and wooded valley, all the way out to sea. A beautifully landscaped rolling meadow is home to 14 spacious tent pitches, each private with its own picnic table, fire pit and cooking grill. Each pitch welcomes up to six guests, bordered with either wildflowers, ancient woodland or saplings, wonderful for wildlife spotting. There are also two private hardstanding and grass campervan pitches, located just below the car park, each has its own picnic table and fire pit and wonderful views down to the coast. The family-friendly, car-free meadow offers a chance to fully immerse yourself in the natural world reconnecting with nature, far from the buzz of everyday life. It is a quiet, restorative sanctuary, rich in wildlife and a huge diversity of indigenous plants due to a successful rewilding project which has provided an abundance of habitats. For those who like a touch more luxury, the geodesic dome has been tucked away in a clearing of tall twisting trees at the foot of the valley. The dome sleeps up to four, equipped with a double bed, a single bed and a sofa bed, along with a wood-fired stove for those cooler nights. There is electricity in the dome for lighting and charging your devices! Outside you will find sun loungers, a fire pit and a separate fire bowl with a grill for cooking, so don't forget to bring your BBQ ingredients. You also have a picnic bench, great for al fresco dining. The highlight of this magical campsite is the 20 minute walk through the National Trust Woodland to Abermawr, an expansive secluded sand and shingle beach which is perfect for swimming, body boarding, rock pooling, sunset bonfires and more. Here you can also join the Pembrokeshire Coast Path which winds along the rugged coastline. You can charge your devices and connect to free WiFi at the hub. Here you will also find a huge and beautifully presented interactive map of Pembrokeshire which makes it easy to plan your day and book local experiences online. There is lots of information available in the Info shed, with maps of local walks, places to visit, where to eat out and where to find local food stores. If you don't feel like cooking every night, take a short walk to the village of Mathry and enjoy a hearty meal in the local pub. Tregwynt Woollen Mill is also just a short walk from the campsite and offers delicious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon tea (as well as wonderful Welsh Wool interiors and clothes). Bucket lists at the ready! For adventurous folk, there is endless opportunity for outdoor activities in the local area including coasteering, sea kayaking, surfing, SUP boarding, boat trips, beach sauna, rock climbing, and mountain biking (can be booked online with QR code links onsite). Four-legged friends are also welcome to join you for your stay, with up to two dogs allowed per pitch and in the geodesic dome.

Preseli Glamping is open from 01/05 to 30/09 in 2025 and 2026. Stay from £30/night for 2 people (2-night minimum).

Just lovely. Self check in is convenient. Eco soap etc provided. Wood available, but I recommend getting kindling from the local garage to get your fire going properly.

It certainly makes sense to us and most campers! We are available to provide logs for your camp fire and sorry you didn't get enough small bits to get the fire going. We usually make sure there are logs of all sizes in each trug so our apologies! Firelighters available too! Thanks and we hope we might see you here for camping again!

This is a wonderful site and exactly what we've been looking for, for ages. Very peaceful and relaxing site. Pitches are generous in size and well spaced out, so everyone feels that they have some privacy. Facilities are well thought out and very clean.

VW-Type Campervan - Non Electric Hardstanding Campervan PitchesAug 2025

The sea is only faintly visible, and the main sounds are from other campers. Arrival is via a turn off a country lane, where the first impression is of a shabby static caravan, an abandoned car, and an open bin store which is quite different from the sleek online marketing. The showers are located in a shipping container. While there are four cubicles with modern fixtures, they were advertised as private shower rooms. In practice, each cubicle becomes wet after use, with no mop or cleaning facilities provided, which is standard in many other campsites. A simple mop and bucket would improve matters. Similarly, there is no way to dry your hands after washing; a paper towel bin or hand dryer would help. Our campervan pitch felt like an extension of the car park. As members of the Greener Camping Club, we expected peace and quiet, but there was noise from vehicles, foot traffic to the toilets, and loud conversations and music past 11pm. Without active site management or visible staff, these issues went unchecked. Firewood, advertised on both the website and on-site notices, was only available by text message. Some positives: the views over the farm fields are pleasant, campfires on each pitch are a nice touch, and the pot wash is adequate for rinsing cutlery. Tent pitches looked more attractive than the campervan area, so experiences may vary depending on accommodation type. We left a day early and moved to another site, as the overall feel was not welcoming and fell short of expectations after visiting other excellent sites in South Wales. While this site may suit some visitors, it was not the right fit for us.

We appreciate your review and so sorry it didn't come up to your expectations. There were/are certainly no abandoned cars in the car park! The bins are all closed green wheely bins just like any other campsite and according to council regulations. As an eco campsite we don't want over-use and mess of wasteful paper towels and certainly no expensive and wasteful electric hand dryers. Not really a priority for a Greener camping club site. As was commented by another camper - we provide our direct mobile number for any camper to get in touch for example to purchase logs (which are delivered to your pitch if you've gone out) or to speak to us about anything you're not happy with during your stay. There's always someone on hand to pop over! The campervan pitches are of a very generous size with lots of grassy space for pitching an awning or pup tent. With best wishes Sophie
