About the site

Set on the banks of the Llys-y-frân Reservoir, this family friendly site offers picturesque water views, especially at sunset, thanks to its west-facing position. You'll be in a great location to explore West Wales, just ten minutes from the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and within 30 minutes to Newgale, Nolton Haven and Broadhaven Beaches. Enjoy the lakeside surroundings with a bite to eat at the Lakeside Café. You won't be short of things to do onsite, with watersports, fishing, mountain biking, archery and more available right on your doorstep. It's a great base for both a relaxing break and an action-packed adventure! Note that onsite activities incur an additional charge and are available from Wednesday to Sunday. Those camping can choose from non electric or electric grass pitches, both suitable for backpacker, small, medium and large tents and measuring 7m by 7m. If you're bringing a caravan or motorhome, you'll be able to choose a touring pitch with 16 amp electric based on a hexi-grid surface. There's an accessible electric touring pitch, too, with wheelchair access and based close to toilets and showers. Both of these options also have access to a water tap and measure 8m by 8m. Those with roof tents, trailer tents and campervans can choose a touring pitch, or an electric or non electric campervan pitch. These have access to a water tap and are both based on a hexi-grid surface filled with stone, with grass growing through. Please note, the maximum weight on the non electric campervan pitch is 3.5 tonnes. The electric pitches measure 8m by 8m, and the non electric pitches measure 6m by 6m. Dogs are very welcome here, with two pups allowed per pitch. There's also a dog agility area for them to stretch their legs. Gas and electric BBQs are permitted for cooking outdoors, but charcoal BBQs are not allowed. Please note that campfires and open fires are also not allowed onsite.

Onsite facilities include hot showers and heated toilets, family changing areas, an accessible toilet and shower, baby changing, and a washing-up area.

You'll also find a gift shop selling camping essential camping items, toys and souvenirs, as well as free WiFi in the visitor centre.

The Lakeside Café serves up hot drinks and sweet treats, as well as a lunchtime menu of hot food showcasing local produce. Alternatively, bring your fishing kit and catch trout from the lakeshore or one of the electric boats.

There's also an onsite activity centre where you can book kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding sessions on the lake, or hire bikes to hit the lakeside path or mountain bike trails.

For other land-based activities, have a go at archery or axe throwing. For the younger adventurers, there are off-road six-wheeler 'Crazi Bugz' vehicles to drive, a climbing wall and an adventure playground. For something slower-paced, try woodland walks from the site, or relax at one of the picnic spots. Dogs are also catered for with an agility playground.

The village of Rosebush (10 minutes) is home to a pub offering traditional Welsh hospitality. Larger supermarkets can be found in Haverfordwest, a 20 minute drive away.

Site rules and policies

*Check in from 2pm until 8pm

*Check out by 11am

*A maximum of two well behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on a lead at all times.

*The site does not accept breeds/crossbreeds listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act (i.e. XL Bully, Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino, and Fila Brasileiro).

*Campfires and charcoal BBQs are not permitted.

*Open fires are prohibited.

*Gas or electric BBQs are permitted for cooking outdoors.

*Swimming in the lake is not allowed.

*Group bookings of three or more units travelling together are not permitted.

*Group bookings of six or more adults are not permitted (couples and immediate family members excepted).

*Activities are available from Wednesday to Sunday only.

*The visitor centre, cafe and trails are open Monday to Sunday.

*Quiet hours must be respected between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m.

*Facilities/activities including watersports, climbing wall, crazi bugz, axe throwing, archery, bike hire & fishing are subject to extra charges payable on arrival.

*Radio, music and TV players must be kept at a low volume. Car doors and boots must be closed quietly.

*The fishing lakes are stocked with Rainbow Trout and to fish, you'll need an Environment Agency rod licence (you'll need to apply for this beforehand).

*Please note, pup tents are to be used for storage purposes only. Guests may not use them for sleeping.

*If reception is closed on arrival: please contact the number provided on your booking confirmation.

*Only one car is to be parked by the pitch. Extra vehicles must be parked in the designated area.

*Commercial vehicles (vehicles used for work-related purposes, carrying goods or fare-paying passengers) and sign-written vehicles are not permitted on site.

Things to do on site and in the Llys Y Frân area

The lakeside location is perfect for a relaxing stroll or simply sitting and enjoying the scenery from a table at the Lakeside Café, which serves up hot drinks and sweet treats as well as a lunchtime menu of hot food showcasing local produce.

Alternatively, bring your fishing kit and catch trout from the lakeshore or one of the electric boats. You'll need to make sure you have a licence to do this. There are also plenty of woodland walks and cycling trails to explore directly from the site.

For those looking for more of an adventure, the site slopes down to an activity centre where you can book kayaking, canoeing and paddleboarding sessions on the lake.

For those who prefer being on dry land, you can hire bikes to hit the lakeside path or mountain bike trails, or try your hand at axe throwing or archery. Please note that there is a fee for activities, and these are available from Wednesday to Sunday.

For younger visitors, there are off-road six-wheeler 'Crazi Bugz' vehicles to drive, a climbing wall and an adventure playground. Dogs are also well catered for with an agility playground for them to stretch their legs.
