Site facilities include a modern, eco friendly, heated wash block with toilets, free showers, disabled facilities and an indoor washing up area. The hot water is generated through a ground source heat pump which is powered by solar panels (as is the rest of the site).

The toilets use rainwater collected off the roof and waste water gets filtered through a reed bed which is a natural habitat for wildlife.

Ice pack freezing is available and there are plug sockets guests are welcome to use to charge their devices. The site's shop sells Dale Farm's own meats, jams, chutneys, cakes and treats - plus eggs from nearby farms down the road. Motorhome - Hardstanding and Grass Pitches with ElectricSep 2026

A nicely positioned site for the Dales with sparkling clean facilities. The shower and toilet block, although only two years old, still looks brand new because of the care that is taken over its cleaning and maintenance. Nice friendly owners and staff. Excellent. Thank you and well done!

Things to do on site and in the Bakewell area

Onsite, guests are welcome to interact with the farm's livestock, including sheep (sometimes lambs, sometimes bottle fed), Highland cows (don't worry, they are in a different field!), a few pigs and one very attention-seeking farm cat!

For adventures off site, the farm is right in the centre of the Peak District and its many walking, cycling, mountain biking and fell running trails.

The Monsal Trail is accessed from a pathway leading from the site and is a traffic-free, flat walking and cycle pathway through four 400 metre long historic brick railway tunnels. Don't miss Monsal Head for panoramic views of the River Wye winding through the gorge.

Bakewell is a ten minute drive or an hour's walk away (along the Monsal Trail) and is known for its medieval stone bridges and riverside walks along the Wye. A visit to the Old Original Bakwell Pudding Shop to try an authentic pudding is a must do! Plus, there are lots more shops and cafes to browse and explore.

Historic Chatsworth House is a 15 minute drive from the farm, featuring stunning architecture, famous water fountains and gardens where you can spot deer. The estate Farm Shop is also top of many visitor's lists, with artisan cheeses, estate-reared meats and freshly baked treats.

Other local attractions include:

  • Haddon Hall (15 minutes)
  • Peveril Castle (20 minutes)
  • Poole's Cavern (25 minutes)
  • Matlock Farm Park (25 minutes)
