Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Huts with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly)Aug 2025

We had an excellent two nights at Middlehead Huts. The hut was really clean, hot tub was running when we arrived, and self check-in meant our arrival was smooth, and we didn't have to speak to anyone if we didn't want to. The location is quite remote, which is great if you're a walker or rambler. Quite a bit of the surrounding area is over grown, so if your out walking, be prepared for this. There are so many North York Moors pathways and bridal paths to follow. Local town, Pickering, is a 20mins drive and has everything you need, including excellent fish and chips!

Shepherd's Hut - Shepherd's Huts with Hot Tubs (Dog Friendly)Apr 2025

Very quiet and peaceful stay. Very relaxing with the hot tub, which was clean and already on and ready for our arrival. The forest next to us was beautiful. The hut itself was very clean and most things are supplied, even dressing gowns. The bed was clean, fresh and comfy, with good Wi-Fi connection if needed. Pickering only a shot drive away for day out. We took our 10 year old dog with us and he loved it, just chilling next to fire pit. we look forward to returning and would recommend.

A note from the site themselves...

If you want peace and tranquility and a totally relaxed away from it all feeling, then Middlehead is the place for you. At Middlehead with it's surrounding forest, wildlife, cycling tracks, walks and natural beauty, it cannot fail to please. A lovely place to be and even better to call it a work environment.

Never a day passes when something happens that surprises you. It could be Geese that suddenly drop into the pond and decide to stay and produce chicks. It could be Moorhens that decide to come and again breed. The occasional Roe deer coming into the field to say hello and even better a Red Stag so majestic in their beauty.
