About the site


Located on the Dorset/Hampshire border with direct access to Moors Valley Country Park, this site is a great family-friendly base for a peaceful countryside break. Set across 130 acres of a family-run organic working farm in the village of Three Legged Cross, you'll also find a kids' play area and an onsite shop. There are 60 spacious grass pitches with optional electric hook ups for caravans. It's an ideal spot for walkers and cyclists, with the 25.5km Castleman Trailway just ten minutes away. The New Forest National Park is a short 15 minute drive, offering historic sites, scenic trails and family attractions like Paultons Park, Home of Peppa Pig World. Coastal days out are easy too, with Bournemouth 20 minutes away, Poole 35 minutes, and the Dorset National Landscape also 35 minutes from the site. Dogs are welcome onsite. Please ensure they are kept on their leads at all times. BBQs are allowed, provided they are raised off the ground. Sorry, campfires are not allowed here.

The site's facilities include toilets, controllable hot showers, basins, and a separate washing up area. There are private shower rooms with toilets for family use (you will need to collect a key from reception for a small fee). You will find a laundry room with a washing machine, a dryer, and a deep sink for handwashing any clothes.

Kids can enjoy the fenced play area with climbing obstacles, two slides, and a treehouse.

The well stocked shop sells everyday essentials, groceries, Purbeck ice cream, seasonal local honey, snacks, games, and pocket money toys. It also stocks Calor Gas and Gaz, plus an assortment of caravan/camping accessories. Should you need local information, maps, guidebooks, recommendations, or educational bits, you can find them in the shop.

A book and DVD exchange, with donations towards local charity Naomi House and Jacksplace, is at the back end of the shop. For dining out, The Three Legged Cross is a ten minute walk away, serving a range of cooked meals and drinks.

*Check-in is from 12pm onwards, and check out is by 10:30 on your last day unless a late stay has been booked and paid for (5.30pm departure).

*Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads.

*All visitors must book in at reception on arrival, a charge will be made.

*Please be aware of others and respect their privacy. Noise must be kept to a minimum between 9.30 pm and 9.00 am throughout the park.

*Vehicles and personal property are kept within the park entirely at owner's risk. Generators and air conditioners are not permitted. Commercial vehicles are generally not admitted, however, access may be granted at the owner's discretion.

*There is an automatic entry and exit barrier, operated by your own personal controller, which is issued on arrival. A £25.00 refundable deposit will be charged - please do not allow children to use this controller.

*There is a speed limit of 5 mph.


Things to do on site and in the Wimborne area

Moors Valley Country Park can be accessed directly from the site and is a ten minute walk or cycle ride. While here, visit the Moors Valley Railway, Go Ape Moors Valley, try your hand at fishing, or enjoy peaceful walks along the Moors River. Ringwood Forest is also on the edge of this park, where you can find the Watchmoor Wood bike park trail.

Keen cyclists and walkers will also enjoy the 26.5km Castleman Trailway (10 minutes), which circles through parts of East Dorset. Following suit, you can access the New Forest National Park within 15 minutes, where you will find free-roaming ponies, cattle, donkeys, and sometimes pigs.

Head here for wildlife walks, picturesque pubs, Hockey's Farm Shop and Farmyard Cafe, Paultons Park Home of Peppa Pig World, and several historic attractions, including the National Motor Museum, New Forest Heritage Centre, and over 40 miles of coastline.

The coastal town of Bournemouth is a 20 minute drive from Bournemouth Beach, Bournemouth Pier, Oceanarium, and plenty of other attractions. For other beach days, Branksome Chine Beach, Canford Cliffs Beach, and Sandbanks Beach are 30 minutes away.

Cranborne Chase National Park is 25 minutes away, and Stonehenge is a 50 minute drive.
