Our friendly resident New Forest and Shetland ponies make this site extremely popular with campers young and old. The many cycle and footpaths offering direct routes to the New Forest will attract travellers looking for a convenient base to explore from. If you're looking more for tranquillity, don't worry, there's also plenty of relaxing to be done in the shade of our marvellous oak trees.

Situated on the edge of Ashurst Wood and dotted with ancient oaks, Ashurst Campsite offers a true forest camping experience with traditional open pitches. The site boasts 280 standard pitches, ranging from open spaces to peaceful secluded spots amongst the trees.

Forest trails are accessible on foot directly from the site and Matley Heath, an expanse of heathland with numerous tracks for walking and cycling, is just a short walk away.

Ashurst Campsite lies 2.5 miles North East of Lyndhurst on the A35.Leave the M27 at junction 3 on to the M271, signposted Southampton and The Docks. At Redbridge Roundabout take the 2nd exit on to the A35, in a south westerly direction towards Totton and Lyndhurst.Continue on the A35 over two roundabouts, heading towards Lyndhurst. Pass through Ashurst Village with the train station to the left. Continue over the railway bridge and Ashurst Campsite is signposted left just after the New Forest Pub.

The village of Ashurst - just a five-minute stroll away - offers shops, pubs and restaurants. Lyndhurst, the unofficial 'capital' of the New Forest is just 2.5 miles away. The Ashurst New Forest train station is situated close to the site with direct trains to London and Bournemouth, stopping at Southampton.

The New Forest and surrounding area offers visitors to Ashurst campsite a whole range of fun activities and family days out to enjoy. You can go horse riding and cycling in the forest or head a little further afield to one of the area's many attractions or simply sample some of the local food and drink on offer in one of the area's many tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.

Our campsite is within close proximity of Lyndhurst and Brokenhurst, where you can find plenty of great pubs with play parks to keep the little ones entertained. If you're looking for some seaside fun, Lymington is a beautiful Georgian market town surrounded by nature with a weekly Saturday market. With the forest in such close proximity, you'll never be short of things to do. Here are a few ideas to get you started. Enjoy a fantastic family day out with Longdown Activity Farm and meet a variety of farm animals, from ducks to ponies.
