Things to do in Cromer
The beautiful seaside town of Cromer is a highlight of the pretty Norfolk coast. It has a long and rich history coupled with plenty to do, making it a fantastic place for anyone to visit regardless of the holiday you’ve got in mind.
Cromer Beach is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. It has a beautiful Victorian pier where you can enjoy great views, try a number of the local delicacies and visit the Lifeboat Station dating back to 1804.
Alongside the pier is the Cromer Esplanade which provides an enjoyable walking experience taking in the sights and sounds of Cromer.
By the pier, you’ll find Britain’s answer to the Great Barrier Reef in the form of the Cromer Shoals Chalk Bed. You can swim or snorkel this 20 mile stretch of incredible underwater formations and sealife.
Back on land, popular attractions to explore include the RNLI Henry Blogg Museum where you can become immersed in brave tales at sea and the Amazonia Zoo where you can see a large variety of animals.
In the town, you’ll quickly spot the impressive tower of Cromer’s church, dating back to the 14th century and inviting onlookers with its 160ft tower of splendour.
Cromer is known for its crab and hosts a major Crab and Lobster Festival every year, so foodies will want to browse and try various places on the front until they find the best crabs on offer.
Just outside of Cromer you can join up with the Peddars Way along the Norfolk Coast AONB and enjoy one of the most beautiful walks in the country.
Along here you will explore the Deep History Coast which is part of the cradle of British civilization.
