About Becks Bay Camping and Glamping

Becks Bay Camping and Glamping at Bubbleton Farm is located just two miles West of Tenby, at the ancient farmhouse ruin of Drussleton. The site offers rustic, back-to-nature style camping and glamping with the luxury of a hot shower and flushing toilets. Becks Bay is a secluded cove accessible to climbers and abseilers - in fact, it offers some of the best spots for traditional climbing and coasteering (a sport founded in Pembrokeshire). You'll also be staying by the Pembrokeshire Coast Path between Tenby and Lydstep Bay with a choice of beautiful walks. Adjacent to the coastal path, the camping field offers several non electric grass pitches for tents, trailer tents and campervans. Camp with stunning views of the surrounding hills and the sound of the sea hitting the cliffs not too far away. Sleeping four, the bell tents provide glampers with a proper mattress, gas stove and all the bedding and cooking equipment they require, and the chance to stay in luxury with their pets! This light and airy home from home is stylishly furnished for the perfect glam break. There is also a bigger 6m bell tent (Fresh West) that sleeps up to five. Easy access to shared facilities. You can also opt for a spacious, fully furnished yurt. Great for families, sleeping four across a double bed and two singles. With all the soft furnishings you need in your home away from home, including a log burner for the cooler evenings. This is complete with a private toilet and shower. Sleeping two, there are also two lovely shepherd's huts offering furnished interiors with the luxury of en-suite toilets and showers, Sand Top even comes with a hot tub! Especially welcome are families, adventure seekers, or anyone who loves animals and life on a real working farm. This is a small site passionate about offering 'greener' camping and working to support local biodiversity. Please note that at least one guest in any group must be a Greener Camping Club member.

Pitches, Sand Top Shepherd's Hut, and the yurt are available from Easter until mid September. Bell tents are open from early May until the end of September. Frankshore Shepherd's Hut is available year round.

There is a picnic table, flushing loos and a lovely hot shower thanks to the toilet and shower blocks in both the camping field and the glamping field, and Sand Top comes with a hot tub!

On site there is a tide clock and an information point with information about the community.

There are a dozen beaches within a 10 minute drive.

A note from the site themselves...

At Becks Bay, we're passionate about providing the perfect place to camp. We're located two miles from Tenby and adjacent to the Pembrokeshire coast path with stunning scenery - we are a short walk from both Lydstep beach and also Tenby South Beach.

We promote campfires, and we are family friendly, as a small site we have tonnes of open space and very little through traffic. Our sister business is Bubbleton Farm Shop and Cafe which is a short walk away and we have farm animals there which can be fed. We stock a wide range of local produce

Bell Tent - Fresh West Bell Tent (6m)Apr 2022

Would highly recommend this site. Fabulous facilities. We stayed in one of the glamping tents. The bed was so comfy and although it was cold in the evening, the hot water bottles that were provided just did the trick and logs were provided for campfire. It was just perfect.

Yurt - Barafundle YurtAug 2023

We stayed in the Barafundle yurt for 7 nights. It worked well for our 4 and 6 year olds who found it all so unique and exciting. The yurt is well placed by completely open space looking out onto green fields. Plenty of space for kids to run around and parents to go on stunning coastal jogs! Really nice that we had our own shower and toilet and the water was always warm. I especially enjoyed the wood burner and view of the cows grazing every night from my bed. We also loved the farm shop and café which served excellent food and coffee, and the opportunity to feed the animals was a massive plus for my kids. My only suggestions for improvement would be to have some spare sheets in a drawer as that would have been handy when my son wet the bed/spending a whole week there (I hand washed instead). Also some lids for the pots provided as it would speed up cooking times. Also, there was more noise than expected coming from the main camping area at night for such a small place, which was a shame. All in all, an amazing experience though and would come back again!

Fab weekend in June!

Yurt - Barafundle YurtJun 2023

Fabulous setting with well set out tents. Great that there was a farm shop that also served excellent breakfasts and lunches. Site was close to Tenby and it was brilliant just to be able to walk out of the field and be on the coastal path. We were very pleased to support the Greener Camping ethos at Becks Bay and the personal touch of a visit from the owner was much appreciated thanks Tom.

FAQ

Check-in for camping and touring is from midday until 10pm and between 2pm and 10pm for glamping. You must vacate your camping/touring pitch by noon or, if glamping, by 10am on day of departure.

Up to two dogs are welcome per pitch or glamping accommodation, provided they are kept on a lead whilst onsite.

You're welcome to either bring your own fire pit or use the ready-made fire pits onsite and, if glamping, each bell tent has its very own BBQ and fire pit. The communal area onsite is equipped with a shared BBQ too, plus pizza oven.

The site is located just a couple of miles west of Tenby, with a number of Blue Flag awarded beaches lining the glorious Pembrokeshire coastline. Lydstep Bay is also just over a mile away, with breathtaking scenery towards Caldey Island, and you're also positioned close to the Pembrokeshire Coast Path. Other beaches in the area include: *Penally Beach (1 mile) - backed by sand dunes, with incredible views over Carmarthen Bay and dog friendly. *Skrinkle Haven Beach (2.8 miles) - nestled between Old Castle Head and Lydstep Point, this secluded bay is well worth a visit to explore the Church Door caves. *Swanlake Beach (4.4 miles) - a hidden gem accessed from the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, explore the rock-pools revealed here at low tide.

Sorry, Becks Bay Camping and Glamping doesn't accept awnings, pup tents or gazebos.

Perfect for families, dogs and outdoor junkies as Becks Bay crag offers top climbing opportunities.

On site guests can walk over to the farmyard where they can feed the animals and hide out from the elements in the Sunroom Café at the farm shop, which stocks an abundance of local products.

Becks Bay is known as one of the best coastal spots for traditional climbing in the UK, and is listed in many climbing guides. If you are new to climbing, Climb Pembroke offer courses in the area that will get you going in no time.

Swan Lake is a hidden treat that is great on high and low tides (best on high). It's not suitable for prams and pushchairs but you can drive across farm land and park above the beach. It's very secluded - and often visited by nudists! Good luck finding this.

Skrinkle Haven is also very close and there are two bays. Steep steps access it from Church Doors Cove, or you can swim over. At low tide you can access Skrinkle via a cave - its normally deserted so a great low tide beach. Definitely no access for pushchairs.

Penally Beach is just a mile east and is great for pushchairs or bikes, with a path from Penally Station. The beach is the west end of the enormous Tenby South Beach. It's best enjoyed at high tide - there is a concrete pier on the west end and when the tide is in it feels like the Med (on a good day).

Lydstep Haven is the bay which the farm overlooks and you can park right by the beach. It was a stunning bay 50 years ago, now a private resort.

Barafundle is probably the prettiest beach in the country and a 15 minute cliff walk from Stackpole Quay and tea room. Also further along this coast is Broad Haven Beach, the lily ponds, St Govan's Chapel and the Green Bridge of Wales - a full day out.

Wales has the highest concentration of castles and Pembrokeshire some of the loveliest. Within a 15 minute drive you'll find Manorbier Castle, Pembroke castle, Carew Castle and also the Lamphey Palace - a fortified bishop's palace.

Walking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is a great activity if you want to explore further and surfing training is available via the Outer Reef Surf School or just bring a board down to Manorbier, Broad Haven or Freshwater West. Boat trips can be taken to visit Caldey Island or go on a seal safari around the island with Tenby Boat Trips. Paddleboarding can be done in Saundersfoot with the company Good Trails.

Other great things to see and do in the area:

  • Trefloyne and Tenby golf courses are both within two miles
  • Horse riding at Marros Riding Centre
  • Heatherton Activity Park
  • Oakwood Theme Park
  • Folly Farm - an outstanding day out for smaller kids
  • The Dinosaur Park
  • Hanger 5 - for trampolining
  • National Botanical Gardens of Wales
