This peaceful and relaxing adult only base is on a poultry farm, by the outskirts of the village of Burton Fleming and a short way from the coast. Only accepting guests over the age of 16, it's rural and surrounded by countryside, with friendly owner Mandy always on hand if needed. It's close to an array of lovely beaches, Hunmanby Gap (10 minutes), Bridlington (15 minutes), Filey (15 minutes), Scarborough (30 minutes) and Whitby (1 hour). Test your legs with walks in the famous Yorkshire Wolds, home to chalk uplands, old timey villages and gentle hills that suit cyclists. From the port at Hull, you could continue your adventures on continental Europe - and historic York itself is 55 minutes away with plenty of attractions. Pitches are set on grass and include electric and water nearby. Campervans, motorhomes and caravans are all welcome. Sorry, this site does not accept dogs.
West Hale Gate Caravan Site is open from 28/03 to 30/10.
Site facilities include three individual proper shower cabins with good water pressure (which also contain toilets), drinking water, grey waste and toilet waste disposal area, plus rubbish bins.
The Burton Arms is just a mile from site and the village of Burton Fleming also offers a post office, pub and shop.

Small quiet site with countryside views. Clean bathrooms, helpful owner. Good access to different places on the coast. You need transport, nowhere in walking distance as the pub is closed. Pitch where you like on arrival however some are quite small. If you have a caravan and awning you would need to reserve one of the larger corner pitches. Odd though as loads of space between each pitch. Would definitely go back.

Situated in a lovely meadow, this campsite was the best I've been to in the area! The toilets and showers were nice and clean, no children or dogs and the lovely lady greeted us with 1/2 dozen fresh eggs! Would recommend to anyone who likes peace and quiet!! Many thanks we will come again for sure!!!

Lovely quiet site based in a large field with access to three huts containing a shower, toilet and sink. Adult only site and no pets allowed but that suited us. Site owner very nice and greeted us with lovely fresh eggs. We stayed for two nights while we visited Scarborough and Whitby, good location. Would stay here again.

Things to do on site and in the Driffield area
There is plenty of open space for a relaxing stay and lots of good pubs to try, including one in Rudston which is recommended as a great reward at the end of bike ride.
But you'll definitely want to divide your time between coast and countryside. Have a proper Yorkshire beach day at Bridlington (15 minutes' drive) which has an attractive old town, quaint cafes, watersports and sandy stretches perfect for your bucket and spade. More unmissable sandy beach to be had at Filey too.
Soak up the sea atmosphere and get some adrenaline going with the funfair at Scarborough, before spooking yourself with Whitby, the inspiration behind Dracula.
