About Freespirit Glamping
With stunning countryside views, this family and dog-friendly site offers the ultimate glamping getaway. Located in both the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and the Howardian Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the site is surrounded by picturesque landscapes for you to explore. The six acre site offers just five bell tents, each accommodating up to five guests. Inside you will find a cosy king-size bed, along with up to three air beds if extra guests are coming along. You can bring your own bedding or book our luxury bedding packs. Each tent is also equipped with all of the utensils and crockery you will need, warm and cosy blankets, hot water bottles, torches and fairy lights. To keep everyone entertained, you will also be provided with a selection of books and games. Outside your tent, you will find your log store / cooking station / pantry, a table and chairs, along with a fire pit and BBQ, great for a spot of al fresco cooking. You will also have your own shower and compost loo in an outdoor hut, with washing-up facilities just outside and a washing line for those wet towels. Due to its wonderful rural location, the site often enjoys glorious clear night skies making it the perfect spot for stargazing. Dogs are also welcome here, with up to two able to snuggle up in each tent. As well as our luxury bedding packs you can also book towels, fire kits, BBQ kits, Celebration Packs and mobile phone charging packs.
Freespirit Glamping is open from 22/03 to 02/11.
Each bell tent has its own compost loo and off-grid shower with hot water. Sink units with hot and cold drinking water are provided for washing up etc.
The nearest town is Helmsley, an easy 15 minute walk away, which has an abundance of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs, and a Co-Op supermarket. This is a dark skies, off grid site but there is 4/5G access and charging units are available for hire.

We decided to try camping as a family of 5, including 3 young kids, and wanted somewhere with the tent all set up in advance and with all the kit included. The location is lovely, with only 5 tents in a huge field. Andy is very welcoming and helpful and showed us round and popped up each day to drop off things we needed. The tent was spacious and pretty inside. All the kit (plates, cups, equipment etc) were neatly packed into boxes inside the tent, you really do only need to bring clothes. Each tent has it's own toilet and shower (which were very clean), a small shed with a stove and fire equipment and a fire pit. Fantastic space for the kids to play and a lovely place to sit outside and enjoy peace and quiet. The tents are well spaced so you don't feel too close to neighbours at all. Helmsley is 2 mins away in the car and is lovely with loads of shops, restaurants and pubs. Loads of nice local walks and places to visit too. A perfect introduction to a low effort camping experience! The only negative was I thought that some of the optional extras were expensive, e.g. £25 for double bedding, £15 for an extra air bed on the floor, £40 for a fire kit.

Fabulous find in Helmsley. The tent accommodated a family of 5 which is rare to find. Beautiful setting, a 10 minute walk into town. Facilities were excellent, we just needed to turn up with food and booze 😂

Situated within both a National Park and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the site is surrounded by picturesque trails and bridal paths, perfect for those looking to explore by bike or foot or horseback. There is stabling and horses can be accommodated by arrangement - simply ask when booking.
National Trust, Nunnington Hall is just a ten minute drive from the site. The glorious manor house offers beautiful gardens and fascinating art and exhibitions for you to discover.
For a day of family fun, Flamingo Land Resort is a 25 minute drive away. The amusement park has something for everyone, from zoo conservation projects to rollercoasters and rides suitable for all ages.
