About the site

Perched above Saltwick Bay, this site is a scenic coastal base just a 20 minute walk from Whitby with direct access to the Cleveland Way Coast Path. Whether you're pitching up with a tourer or staying in a glamping pod with a private hot tub, the park offers a relaxed stay with sea views and plenty of family friendly facilities. Enjoy a breakfast bap or lunch at the Jet Bar and Bistro, while the beer garden is the ideal place to sit back with a refreshing drink. Little ones can burn off energy at the nautical-themed play park, while older children can tackle the climbing ropes and structures. There is a range of electric grass pitches available, all with a 16 amp hook up. Standard pitches cater for units up to 6.5m, suitable for roof tents, caravans, small campervans and motorhomes, while larger pitches with awning space accommodate units up to 8m. There are also sea view grass pitches, including larger pitches with awning space. Eight electric hardstanding pitches are available on a tarmac base, suitable for units up to 8m and located close to the main facilities. For those after extra comfort, the ensuite glamping pods sleep either two or four guests and come complete with private verandas, hot tubs, fully-equipped kitchens, cosy living areas, heating, bedding, and WiFi. The Ensuite Studio Suite Glamping Cabin sleeps four, featuring a mezzanine sleeping area and a double bedroom with sliding doors. Inside, there is an open-plan living area with a smart TV and a kitchen with an oven, grill, fridge/freezer, four burner hob, and a microwave. Outside, there is a gated veranda with a hot tub. There are also holiday homes for a home-from-home feel. The park is perfectly placed for exploring the Yorkshire coastline and the scenic North York Moors, with plenty of walking and cycling routes nearby. Around 25 minutes away, Grosmont is home to the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, where you can hop aboard a steam train ride through the countryside to Pickering. Dogs are welcome on the pitches, and one small dog is permitted in the glamping units. BBQs are allowed, provided they are raised off the ground. Campfires are not permitted.

Guests have access to a heated facilities block featuring separate men's and women's toilets, hot showers, and dedicated changing areas. Each includes rows of sinks with mirrors, hair dryers, shaving sockets, and a few full-length mirrors.

Family rooms are also available, complete with baby changing facilities, baby baths, and a playpen. An accessible shower room provides a ramp, grab rails, and an accessible toilet, shower, and sink.

The laundry room has two coin-operated washing machines and dryers, plus an ironing board and washing baskets available from reception. A small library can be located here, too. There is free WiFi throughout the site.

Families are well catered for, with a children's play area including swings, slides, climbing ropes, and adventure structures for older kids. Four-legged guests are welcome too, with a dog shower and scenic coastal walks directly from the site.

Reception offers tourist information and a handy shop stocked with essentials. The onsite Jet Bar and Bistro serves breakfast such as baps and fresh coffee, alongside lunches including burgers and scampi. Guests can sit indoors, on the veranda, or in the beer garden with a refreshing drink.

Site rules and policies

* Check-in for touring is from 12pm until 6pm. Check out is by 10am.

* Check-in for onsite accommodation is from 4pm until 6pm. Check out is by 10am.

* Raised fire pits are permitted. Campfires are not allowed.

* Dogs are allowed onsite, provided they are kept on a lead and supervised at all times.

* The site has a quiet policy from 10pm until 8am.

Things to do on site and in the Whitby area

Whitby is just a ten minute drive or a 20 minute scenic walk from the park, home to many top attractions. Wander through the historic harbour town and visit the iconic Whitby Abbey, and if you're feeling energetic, tackle the famous 199 Steps for sweeping sea views.

For something a little different, brave the Dracula Experience, an immersive attraction complete with live actors, special effects and atmospheric scenes.

The coastline surrounding the park is great for beach lovers and walkers. The site has direct access to the Cleveland Way Coast Path, with Saltwick Bay Beach practically on the doorstep for coastal strolls, rock pooling, and fossil hunting. Picturesque fishing villages are also nearby, including Robin Hood's Bay (10 minutes), Runswick Bay (25 minutes), and Staithes (30 minutes).

A 30 minute drive brings you to Scarborough, with sandy beaches and the impressive Scarborough Castle, where panoramic views stretch across the Yorkshire coast.

The stunning North York Moors National Park can be reached within 25 minutes, where you can explore the walking and cycling routes, hidden valleys, and charming villages dotted throughout.
