About the site
Only 30 minutes in the car will take you over to the start of the national park.
Simple's the name of the game with tent pitches spread over a spacious grass field. There's no shortage of room to relax, with only ten pitches onsite. Take advantage of that with a cosy campfire all to yourself and toast up some marshmallows!
Pitches are mowed into the field for part of the year, giving guests a more private feel to their area while benefiting the wildlife.
Don't forget to bring your torch as the site is unlit at night. Perfect for stargazing!
Vehicles are not allowed on site but there are handy wheelbarrows available to help you transport your equipment from the car park to your pitch.

A note from the site themselves...
I love being outside and in nature, so when I had the idea for a campsite, I wanted to make a place I would like to visit.
This site has been created for guests to relax, have a nice area in the field, be able to have a campfire, bring their dogs, have plenty of space so they don't have to listen to their neighbours snore at night and have a toilet block that I would like to use - as sometimes you'd rather not visit the facilities!
I have been to Yew Tree Farm on multiple occasion, both my with partner and a group of friends and both times have been excellent.
Lots of space for tents and amazing utility rooms - would recommend this location to anyone.
Beautifully basic

Medium Tent - Grass Tent PitchesMay 2025
It was a very basic field with a shower/toilet block. We did not use the shower, but we used the toilets and sinks which were very clean and well maintained.
The bins near the shower block were over flowing since we arrived. The car park is small and the not always easy to find a space.
We used the site as a place to sleep as the site is perfectly situated close to lots of interesting places. We visited Heights of Abraham, Gulliver's Kingdom and Crich, all were within 30 minute drive.
There is also a small play area down the lane from the campsite and Alfreton is a few minutes drive and has a large Tesco.
will return!

Medium Tent - Grass Tent PitchesMay 2025
Had a lovely couple of days at Yew Tree Farm. I took my son and his friend so the fact that no cars were allowed on the field meant I knew they were safe from traffic. The views were beautiful...it was easy to get to as it was close to the main roads but down a little lane and you felt like you were in the middle of nowhere. The park across the road was a huge hit. The facilities were basic but did the job and for what we paid, it felt like good value for money. A very relaxed vibe to the site with no check in or check out times which I really appreciated! We had a lovely time and will no doubt be back!

Things to do on site and in the Alfreton area
Walks around these parts aren't just for fans of Austen and lovers of Mr Darcy, though the countryside does lend itself to those scenic novels. Limitless incredible walks will take you around the Peaks, with climbing, cave diving and bike rides on the Tissington Trail all well worth exploring.
A couple of showstoppers in the area have to be Matlock and Matlock Bath, with picturesque settings and ideal family options. At Matlock Bath you can have fun whizzing on the rides at Gulliver's Kingdom or seeing the Heights of Abraham.
Top water sports are a thirty minute zoom in the car, with Carsington Water well known for its incredible options. Whether you're dipping your rod in the water or skimming over it in a kayak, canoe or boat, you're sure to be swept up by its beauty.
Don't miss the Crich Tramway Museum for a chance to explore travel the way it once was!
