About the site

Experience life on a family run working farm with views of grazing animals and down to the sea. Located on the North York Moors, the site is surrounded by amazing walking routes, with the charming seaside spots of Whitby, Scarborough and Robin Hood's Bay within a short 20 minute drive. Guests can pitch their tents, trailer tents, roof tents, campervans, caravans and motorhomes on the site's 24 grass pitches. Choose from non electric or electric pitches, each allowing up to six guests. The farm is home to friendly animals, including horses, chickens, sheep and cows, plus a herd of Highland cattle. In the spring months, witness the farm in full bloom, and you may even see the newborn calves and lambs. There is also a handy onsite shop for picking up ingredients, fresh eggs and some homemade treats. In the evenings, there are fire pits for hire, with logs available to purchase. Guests can also bring along their own fire pits and BBQs, just please ensure they are raised from the ground. Dogs are more than welcome, with up to four allowed per pitch. The local countryside is the perfect place to stretch their legs!

Great weekend away, nice and quiet area with a view of the sea. Waking up to all the farm animals and an atmosphere that makes you happy. Toilets, shower, and cooking appliance with a fridge freezer if needed. Nice walking paths for dogs, but due to high winds, we didn't explore much of the area; we definitely will next time. Great communication from Julie. Highly recommend.

We're Julie and Anthony, and we run Bent Rigg Farm, a family farm that's been part of the White family since way back in 1927. We care for around 350 acres here in Ravenscar, right on the edge of the stunning North York Moors.

Our land is home to sheep, cows, highland cattle and even a couple of bulls, so there's always something going on! Alongside the farm, we've opened up part of this lovely spot for campers and caravanners to enjoy the peaceful countryside and sea views.

Things to do on site and in the Scarborough area

Robin Hood's Bay is 20 minutes away, a charming old fishing village. The narrow cobbled streets lead down to a sandy beach with loads of rock pools to explore when the tide is out. Kids will love hunting for crabs and shells, and adults can enjoy browsing the little shops and cafés tucked into the hillside.

Drive a little further, and you will find Whitby (25 minutes). Climb the 199 steps to reach the ruins of Whitby Abbey, where you'll get amazing views over the town and sea. Down in the harbour, you can enjoy a boat trip or some of the best fish and chips in Yorkshire. There's also plenty of quirky shops and the famous connection to Dracula!

Scarborough is just a 20 minute drive away and is home to popular sandy beaches, a medieval castle, North Bay Railway and a whole host of shops. The perfect bustling seaside town for a family friendly day out.
