About the site


Tucked just off the A477, it's a great base for exploring Pembrokeshire, with sandy beaches, seaside towns, and historic castles all just a short drive away. Within two minutes, you can be in Kilgetty, while the local pub is just a ten minute walk away. The park is home to ten hardstanding touring pitches, each with 10 amp electric, space for an awning, and free WiFi included. These pitches are double sized (7.5m x 7m) and suitable for caravans, motorhomes, campervans, trailer tents and roof tents. Alongside the touring pitches, there are also seasonal pitches for longer stays, plus a charming shepherd's hut, ideal for two, with its own comfy double bed. The location is a real highlight. Tenby and Saundersfoot are just ten minutes away, offering sandy beaches, colourful harbours and plenty of shops and cafés to explore. Families will love Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, only five minutes from the park, while history fans can step back in time at Carew Castle and Tidal Mill. Dogs are also welcome, with up to two dogs allowed per pitch! In the evenings, guests can enjoy a BBQ, just please ensure it is raised from the ground. Please note, open fires are not permitted.

The Buttles Caravan Park is open all year round in 2025 and from 01/01 to 02/04 in 2026.

Site facilities include clean and modern showers and toilets, plus a disabled bathroom and washing up area. There is a launderette with a washing machine and tumble dryer (extra charge applies) and free WiFi on site.

A supermarket, pub, bakery, and fish and chips shop are all within a five minute drive. The Begelly Arms is also within a ten minute walk.

Welcome to The Buttles! Our name comes from the Dutch word for 'The Marshes', a nod to the history of the area and its peaceful setting. Our family has been welcoming guests here since the 1960s, and we're proud to keep the park small, friendly and relaxed.

We love creating a place where you can slow down, breathe in the fresh Pembrokeshire air, and feel completely at ease. Whether you're escaping the rush of everyday life or simply want a safe, peaceful spot to spend time with your family, we're here to make sure your stay is just what you need.

FAQ

Check-in for camping and touring is from 1pm and you must vacate your pitch by 10:55am on day of departure.

BBQs are welcome provided they are raised above the ground or placed on gravel, so as not to damage the grass - open campfires are not permitted. Glampers will find a BBQ located outside their chosen glamping accommodation.

Yes, a maximum two dogs are welcome to join you per camping/touring pitch and the dog friendly shepherd's hut, provided they are kept on a lead whilst on the park (no longer than 3m) and are not a breed/crossbreed listed under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.

The site enjoys easy access to the Pembrokeshire Coast, with the glorious beaches at Saundersfoot (3 miles) and Tenby (5 miles) only a 10-15 minute drive away. Both offer a variety of restaurants, cafes, shops and watersports while the Pembrokeshire Coast Path is also a great way of soaking up the coastal scenery, with 186 miles to explore.

The seaside town of Saundersfoot is a ten minute drive away, and Tenby's picturesque harbour and beachfront is just under six miles from the park. Soak up the sea views on a walk from Wiseman's Bridge (3.3 miles) to Saundersfoot, or plan a route along the Pembrokeshire Coast Path - access is just five miles from the site! There's family fun to be had at Folly Farm (1.5 miles), where kids can feed the giraffes, meet the penguins, and enjoy a range of rides at the vintage fairground. Pay a visit to the monks and fellow islanders at Caldey Island - boat trips available from Tenby harbour. Other nearby attractions include: *Heatherton World of Activities (5.3 miles) - award-winning activity centre with paint balling, archery, golf, adventure play area and cafe. *Manor House Wildlife Park (5.3 miles) - get up close to rhinos and say hello to tigers, pandas and more within this 52 acre zoo. *Oakwood Theme Park (6.3 miles) - Wales' largest theme park, with a variety of thrilling rollercoaster rides providing fun for the whole family. *Carew Castle (6.8 miles) - soak up the rich history here, with lovely walks around the restored tidal mill. *Manorbier Castle (9 miles) - Norman castle with breathtaking views overlooking Manorbier's beach.


Things to do on site and in the Kilgetty area

Only five minutes from the park is Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo, one of the most popular attractions in Wales. Here you can meet animals from lions and giraffes to penguins and meerkats. There are also huge indoor and outdoor play areas, plus vintage fairground rides, so it's a great day out for all ages.

If you fancy a day at the seaside, you'll be spoilt for choice. The colourful harbour town of Tenby is just ten minutes away. With its sandy beaches, boat trips, and cobbled streets full of shops and cafés, it's perfect for a family outing.

Nearby Saundersfoot (also 10 minutes) is another lovely seaside spot, known for its long sandy beach, working harbour, and plenty of tasty places to eat.

History fans will enjoy visiting Carew Castle and Tidal Mill, which is also only ten minutes from the park. The castle ruins sit by a huge millpond, and you can explore the towers, learn about its past, and enjoy the walking trails around the grounds.
