About Yew Tree Farm

Only 15 minutes in the car will wing you over to the start of the national park, and within half an hour, you're deeper into its beauty. Simple's the name of the game with tent pitches spread over a spacious grass field. There's no shortage of room to relax, with only 10 pitches on site. Take advantage of that with a cosy campfire all to yourself and toast up some marshmallows! Pitches are mowed into the field for part of the year, giving guests a more private feel to their area while benefiting the wildlife. Don't forget to bring your torch as the site is unlit at night. Perfect for stargazing!

Yew Tree Farm is open all year round.

A note from the site themselves...

I love being outside and in nature, so when I had the idea for a campsite, I wanted to make a place I would like to visit.

This site has been created for guests to relax, have a nice area in the field, be able to have a campfire, bring their dogs, have plenty of space so they don't have to listen to their neighbours snore at night and have a toilet block that I would like to use - as sometimes you'd rather not visit the facilities!

I look forward to welcoming you.

Alicia

Large Tent - Grass Tent PitchesOct 2023

This is such a lovely place to stay. The toilets were clean and showers are very nice. Although you feel as if you are pretty much in the middle of nowhere, if you need a shop there is lots locally and a big Tesco is only about a 10-15 drive away. The site was great, you can pitch anywhere and there was plenty of room. You have to park in the car park but they offer a wheelbarrow to help you move everything to the field which is great! We were a couple with a 14 yo and an 8 yo who we kept quiet. I got the impression it's a more relaxed, quiet place to camp, which suited us, but something to bare in mind if you want to 'party''! The staff were very friendly and welcoming and we would definitely camp there again!

Medium Tent - Grass Tent PitchesOct 2023

This site is perfect for back-to-basic camping. It's ideally located for the Peak District and the local pub is a 15-minute walk away. Facilities are no frills, but very clean and the shower was lovely after a day in the peaks. The grass is kept a little longer here, so consider footwear needs for moving about the site. Torches are a must for after dark and two in the morning trips to the loo. Check-in and check-out is very relaxed. Wood is provided at a reasonable cost for campfires - we took our own fire pit and sat listening to the owls calling! We loved our stay here and hope it won't be long before we're back again.

Great, friendly campsite

Medium Tent - Grass Tent PitchesOct 2023

Great back to basics site. Very generous pitches and a friendly and helpful host. Toilets were clean and the shower had plenty of hot water. Close enough to supermarkets for easy supply runs.

A couple of showstoppers in the area have to be Matlock and Matlock Bath, with picturesque settings and ideal family options. At Matlock Bath you can have fun whizzing on the rides at Gulliver's Kingdom or seeing the Heights of Abraham.

Top water sports are a thirty minute zoom in the car, with Carsington Water well known for its incredible options. Whether you're dipping your rod in the water or skimming over it in a kayak, canoe or boat, you're sure to be swept up by its beauty.
