About the site


A spacious campsite set just outside of Bakewell, in the heart of the Derbyshire countryside. The site is ideal for families, with Gulliver's Kingdom just a 25 minute drive away, and great for nature lovers too, being located in the Peak District National Park, home to walks, hikes, cycle trails, and more. Onsite, there are 45 electric grass pitches with a 16 amp electric hook up for tents, trailer tents, roof tents, and campervans up to 5m in length. Tourers can opt for one of the 140 hardstanding pitches (8m x 8m), each with a 16 amp electric hook up. All pitches hold uninterrupted views of the countryside! There is also a separate field on site, home to privately owned static caravan holiday homes. Days out can be enjoyed at Haddon Hall (10 minutes), Poole's Cavern (20 minutes), or the popular Carsington Water Visitor Centre (30 minutes), ideal for watersports, walks, and scenic views. Or head into Sheffield (45 minutes) for shops, eateries, gardens, galleries and more. Guests can also enjoy refreshing beers at the onsite bar! Dogs are welcome, provided they are kept on their leads.

Grass pitches are open from February to October while the hardstanding pitches are open from February to December.

Onsite facilities include two heated unisex toilet and shower buildings with hot water, hairdryers, a washing up station, a laundry room and Elsan points. There are two play areas for children to roam in, a large recreational field, and a small games room. You will also have access to a three acre dog walk and nature walk.

Guests will find a Bar, open daily from 9:30am in high season, serving locally sourced ales, draught, and bottled beers. A 15 minute walk from the site will take you to an Aldi for those everyday shopping essentials.

Things to do on site and in the Bakewell area

Famous for Bakewell tarts, the quaint village of Bakewell is just a five minute drive away, offering plenty to do and see, including Bakewell Old House Museum, Bakewell Visitor Centre, Weir Footbridge and more. Stroll along the River Wye, pop into local tea rooms or visit the open market held every Monday.

Haddon Hall, a Tudor manor with Elizabethan gardens, is less than ten minutes away, and the Monsal Trail, perfect for walking and cycling, is also within ten minutes.

The Peak District National Park is just ten minutes from the site, home to charming villages, museums, hiking and cycling trails and a great way to reconnect with nature.

Family days out can be spent at Matlock Farm Park (20 minutes), where kids can enjoy play areas, go-karting, and meet llamas and cattle. For adventure seekers, Poole's Cavern (20 minutes) offers underground cave tours and woodland walks.

History fans should explore Peveril Castle, a 25 minute drive with a square tower built by Henry II in 1176. Or, head to the Sheffield Botanical Gardens (35 minutes) for a peaceful stroll surrounded by greenery and vibrant displays.
