Treat yourself to a revitalising break at Aldridge Hill. This site offers intimate views of the bordering Blackwater Stream and Ober water and free-roaming ponies, cattle and donkeys add to the sense of natural harmony. Take advantage of the stunning sunsets at the water's edge and find your way through the vibrant woodland along officially marked cycle paths within the New Forest.

There isn't an onsite shop but the quintessential English village of Brockenhurst is just two miles away with many useful amenities including a mini supermarket, chemist, gas and camping supply shop as well as several cafés.

Aldridge Hill opens for the season on the 26th May but closes for a few weeks on the 6th June to the 23rd June. The site then reopens until the 5th September.

From Lyndhurst take the A337 towards Brockenhurst. Turn right onto the B3055 (Grigg Lane) and carry straight on over the crossroads. Take the first right after the Esso garage into The Rise, and at the end of the road turn right into Rhinefield Road. Stay on this road for approximately one and a half miles, then turn right into the Forestry Commission Beachem Wood carpark. Follow the signs to Aldridge Hill site.

Please be aware that there are width limits on Meerut Road (the turning before the B3055) and also from the A35 into Rhinefield Ornamental Drive on the main Lyndhurst to Bournemouth Road.

This is a limited facility site with no toilets, showers, electricity or hardstanding so your own chemical toilet is essential. Although there is no shop onsite, Brockenhurst village is just 2 miles away.

This site has grass pitches only, suitable for tents, caravans and motorhomes.

The New Forest and surrounding area offers visitors to Aldridge Hill campsite a whole range of fun activities and family days out to enjoy. You can go horse riding and cycling in the forest or head a little further afield to one of the area's many attractions or simply sample some of the local food and drink on offer in one of the area's many tea rooms, pubs and restaurants.

With the forest in such close proximity, you'll never be short of things to do. Here are a few ideas to get you started.

  • Southampton Docks with its array of ocean liners
  • Forest Ranger Activities
  • Paultons Family Theme Park, Home of Peppa Pig World

  • Ringwood Brewery, tour the brewery and try their four locally brewed Best Bitter and Fortyniner ales

One of the best ways to see the New Forest is by bike. Cycle hire is available from Forest Leisure Cycling in Burley, the perfect base for easy access to the New Forest Trails, with rides and bikes for all ages! Trax Bike Hirealso offers a wide choice of bike to suit all age ranges and abilities.

Food options include:

  • The Huntsman Restaurant, Brokenhurst. A 13th century coaching inn full of character and charm
  • The Three Tuns Inn, Bransgore. A cosy retreat in the heart of the New Forest, with a log fire for the winter and a beautiful terrace.

With no toilet or shower blocks, Aldridge Hill lays special claim to being a nothing but nature site, dubbed so by ourselves, of course. This completes the natural feel to the site, helping you to disconnect from everyday life and providing you with unspoilt views.

Please note that this does mean that a chemical toilet is required at this campsite.
