Jackie and Glyn are friendly owners and can offer heaps of advice and information on what to see and do. For starters, it's a 10 minute drive to Street, home of Clarks shoes and Clarks Village.
Not much further is Glastonbury. Why not visit Glastonbury Tor or the Glastonbury's Somerset Rural Life Museum, in a fourteenth century barn with exhibits on Somerset's agricultural and social history?
A short drive on again and you will reach the beautiful city of Wells and its magnificent Cathedral. History boffins should also make room for Bishops Palace next door, Vicar's Close, the oldest residential street in Europe, and Grade II listed Milton House overlooking the city.
Kilver Court at Shepton Mallet is another great place to visit, especially for the woman out there who love Mulberry handbags!
Cheddar Caves and Wookey Hole, offer a fun day for all the family.
Weston-super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea are also within easy reach, and it's less than an hour to some of Dorset's prized Jurassic Coast, with sailing/surfing beaches such as Lyme Regis, Weymouth and Bridport.
If you like your cider then Roger Wilkins at Mudgley (near Wedmore) is worth a visit, you will be able to pick up cheese and chutneys as well as sampling some 'free' cider from him! All you will need is some lovely bread to soak it up with.
