Eco-friendly camping and glamping with a bell tent and geodome with outdoor kitchens

Peaceful meadow and woodland location, with pitches including private picnic benches and fire pits!

Set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, ten minutes from beaches and Milford Haven

About the site

This relaxed, family friendly campsite is perfect for anyone looking to switch off and enjoy nature. Set in the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, you will be just ten minutes from sandy beaches and Milford Haven with its charming harbour and waterside restaurants. There are two areas onsite, the woodland and the meadow. The grass woodland pitches have the option of 6 amp electric, great for smaller and medium size tents and enjoy dappled shade from ancient beech trees. The meadow offers three pitches suitable for very large tents, without electric, and two hardstanding pitches for campervans, roof tents, and trailer tents with the option of 6 amp electric. A water point is also nearby. Each pitch includes a private picnic bench and a fire pit for toasting marshmallows. Logs, kindling and fire lighters can be purchased onsite. For glamping, there is a bell tent that can sleep up to four people on a comfy double bed and two singles. The bell tent is fully furnished, and inside you'll have a small dining area. Glampers who love to stargaze should opt for the geodome, sleeping up to six people in a double bed, two singles and an optional additional two singles. This spacious accommodation has a dining table and see see-through wall for admiring the views. Both glamping units have an allocated toilet/shower in the cowshed facilities block. Outside, you'll have your own picnic area with seating and a fire pit, as well as a covered kitchen area with a gas hob and a coolbox with ice blocks. Finally, there is the converted horsebox, which can sleep up to four people. There is a double bed above the cab area, and two extra people can also sleep in the living area, although it may be a little tight. You'll have your own ensuite, and outside there's seating, a fire pit and grill. All bedding and linen are provided for the glamping units, but please bring your own towels. Dogs are welcome onsite, with up to two allowed per pitch or unit, but please keep them on the lead at all times. Please note that this campsite is part of The Greener Camping Club, and so at least one member of the booking party has to be a member. Membership is £12 for the year and can be bought upon booking.

The camping pitches, geodome and horsebox are open all year round. Bell tents are available from April to October.

A note from the site themselves...

The Harries family welcome you to the Little Welsh Wood. We opened back in the Spring of 2021 and thoroughly enjoy welcoming guests every year. We are all about providing a warm stay for all, and you can even go on a donkey walk experience if you wish. Myself and the team all hope to welcome you soon, Isabel

VW-Type Campervan - Hardstanding Meadow Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

Not the stay we intended, we broke down on the way so had to lose a night and change to a tent, but what an amazing campsite. From the understanding owners to the beautiful location, we had an amazing stay and will be back again, hopefully in our van next time.

Fantastic and friendly

Medium Tent - Woodland Pitches (Optional Electric)Aug 2024

We loved our stay here at Little Welsh Wood. They were so accommodating and friendly, giving us a guided tour around the site when we arrived to help us familiarise with the facilities. We had our own shower and toilet in the block which was a really nice touch and the breakfast sandwiches and pastries they offer in the mornings were delicious. They really focus on offering the most to the people they have staying, focusing on quality rather than squeezing any more people into the site.

Utterly brilliant

Large Tent - Woodland Pitches (Optional Electric)Jul 2024

Totally brilliant in every way. It's a beautiful secluded location with the trees providing shelter from the sun when you want it. Pitches are spread far away from each other and are large, so you can always love around to get the best sun or shade. Individually assigned toilets and shower is such a great idea and takes away all the stress of wondering if the shower is free and how clean it is. A picnic bench and fire pit on every pitch are both really good additions. Service and attentiveness of the hosts is brilliant; fresh-baked pastries and coffee delivered to your tent!

FAQ

Check-in is available for everyone between 3pm and 8pm. Please do let the site know as soon as possible if there will be any delays. Camping pitches must be vacated by 11am, and glamping units must be checked out by 10am.

Dogs are welcome, but there are a few rules. You may bring a maximum of two dogs onto the campsite, but they must be kept on a lead of no more than two metres while walking through the site, or on a long lead no more than 10 metres on your pitch. Dogs must never be left unattended on site. You must pick up and bag any dog mess and dispose of it in the bins provided.

BBQs and campfires are allowed, but only in the designated areas provided. Please do not enlarge or alter the position of the designated campfire places. You are not allowed to leave your campfire unattended, and do not light a fire if it is windy.

You're welcome to have an awning, gazebo and pup tent on all of the camping pitches.

Unfortunately, there is no parking directly at your pitch. In good weather, you can drive along the edge of the field bordering the woodland to set up on your arrival and pack up on departure, but in adverse conditions and at all other times, you must park your vehicle in the yard at the main entrance. Wheelbarrows are provided for hauling your camping equipment. Campervans are permitted on certain pitches, but if the ground is considered too soft to drive on, you may be asked to park on a hard-standing area until conditions improve.

You will have the option of adding 6 amp electric, which is enough for small, basic appliances.
