About the site

If you're looking for a convenient, scenic campsite on the Pembrokeshire Coast, this could be the perfect destination. Just five minutes from the beach, with stunning views and excellent onsite facilities, it is an ideal spot to get away from it all! Easily accessed from the A487, you don't have to worry about negotiating steep, winding lanes or reversing the caravan into a tight spot. The site is flat and enjoys level pitches and bags of room to park up and pitch your tent or manoeuvre your caravan or campervan into place. The site has non electric and electric grass pitches, each with a 16 amp hookup and some with a water tap. All of the pitches welcome up to six guests camping in either a tent, caravan, campervan or tourer. The camping field is open and spacious so that it never feels crowded. You'll have your own green little piece of Pembrokeshire heaven to yourself, with room for ball games and playing with the family. You can sit back and unwind as you marvel at the glorious sunset over the sea, right from your pitch. There are plenty of opportunities for surfing, hiking, horse riding, coasteering, wildlife spotting and more nearby. The famous Pembrokeshire Coast Path can also be joined just five minutes away, great for keen walkers. For that traditional camping experience, campfires and BBQs raised off the ground are welcome, perfect for evenings of cooking or toasting marshmallows. Don't forget to make room for your four-legged friends too, with up to two dogs welcome per pitch. There is also plenty of space onsite for them to stretch their legs!

A note from the site themselves...

Like a crab's pincer, St Brides Bay opens its curved mouth towards the Atlantic and the waves that roll in make it one of the best surfing spots in the country. Amongst the beaches in the bay is Newgale, a vast sandy ribbon that any regular camper or surfer here will know well.

And, if close proximity to the beach is a top priority for you, then our site is likely to take your fancy. The place boasts eco-friendly facilities, sunset views over the bay and a convenient spot on the route of the main coastal shuttle-bus service, making it extremely handy for walkers. It is also less than a five minute drive from Newgale Sands.

Small Tent - Electric Grass PitchesAug 2025

What a great view to look at while you clean your teeth 😁 We had an electric pitch on the right hand side of the second field, not everywhere had the view. We were antisocial and pitched facing it 😊 The electric pitches were big and well defined with numbers and string, and had a drinking water tap each too 👍🏻 It was quite a walk to the loos, all in one block with the shop and washing up. Everything was nicely kept and tidy around that block, lovely flower beds 🌺 Non-electric pitches seemed a free-for-all, tents all over the place. There are 2 big fields, so great if you want to camp away from everyone else and have a corner to yourself. There's a wind turbine just over the fence which got noisy some nights. We knew the showers were 20p and we saved loads up, but the set up was odd. As soon as you put your coins in, the timer starts. But the coin slots are outside the shower in the main loo area. There's a sign saying this and be ready to shower, so you have to get stripped off and nip back out in a towel, or waste shower time getting stripped off. And if you want to add another 20p at the end, bad luck 🤷‍♀️ There were 3 showers at the back in self contained rooms with a loo, but they were variously unlit, blocked and always dirty. We reported the blocked ones and they said they'd get on it, but we didn't use them again. The shop's not that well stocked, no 'proper' food, milk, bacon, then just ice cream, crisps, chocolate, cake, souvenirs and some camping basics. Open long hours though which was good. Not full recycling, which I thought the Welsh Government had made compulsory 🤷‍♀️ There were a few holes on our pitch, small enough to miss, but big enough to turn an ankle in. We reported these and they didn't have any soil but said someone would put boards over them, but this never happened. The main entrance was pretty pot holed too. They filled in the ruts between the fields with some aggregate while we were there, some of that would sort the main entrance too. Some groups were noisy well after the requested quiet time of 11pm, but no one enforcing that 🤷‍♀️ So, there were quite a few niggles meaning we wouldn't go back, but overall had a nice stay, for our main, and only camping, holiday of the year. The area has amazing beaches, I loved Nolton Haven and went in the sea there 3 times during the heatwave weather we had ☀️ Only 7 mins drive and at 10:30 ish I always found a parking spot, after that, you'd be taking your chances. I didn't like the look of Newgale for swimming, it draws surfers for a reason, big waves! We tried Broad Haven for chips one lunchtime, but no parking to be had anywhere. Because of this, we stumbled on Nolton Cross farm shop, highly recommended, the best welsh cakes 😋 There aren't many places to eat close by. We ate at the Victoria Inn one night which was lovely, and not unreasonable, but expensive to do every night, £63 for drinks, starters and mains for 2. No chippy or Chinese near enough to bring food back. Google says there's one in a petrol station in Pelcomb, but the girl serving said it has closed. We tried the Pizza hut in a lay-by, really good tacos 😋 Something's Cooking is about 15 mins drive and had the best chips we've had in some time. The Pointz castle ice cream shop had a great range of flavours. Other than that, we resorted to the supermarkets in Haverfordwest west. We visited Castell Henllys, Carew castle and mill and Tenby, all well worth it 😁

Lovely site

St Davids (20 minutes) is worth a jaunt, too, the UK's smallest city is famed for its cathedral and independent shops. It is also the meeting point for boat trips to spot wildlife around Skomer and Ramsey islands (bring the binoculars and keep the peepers peeled for puffins and dolphins).
