Enjoy sea and countryside views over the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park at Newton Farm Campsite. Located just a five minute drive from Freshwater West Beach (which you may recognise from Harry Potter!), the site provides a peaceful base for exploring the Pembrokeshire coast, only ten minutes from historic Pembroke. Tents and tourers can pitch up on spacious non electric grass pitches, with dogs and campfires welcome too!
Why you'll love it at Newton Farm Campsite
Simple, relaxed family-run campsite with views of the sea and surrounding National Park countryside
Spacious, friendly campsite with campfires welcome for toasting marshmallows while stargazing!
Within a ten minute drive of Freshwater West Beach, West Angle beach, Angle Bay and Pembroke town
About the site
This peaceful, family-run site is only a five minute drive from the popular Freshwater West beach which is great for surfing and where Dobby the House Elf from Harry Potter was famously buried. You can visit Dobby's memorial and see the socks and decorated stones left by Potterheads. Folly Farm, Tenby and Pembroke Castle are within a 30 minute drive too!
There are a total of 35 non electric grass pitches welcoming tents, trailer tents, roof tents, motorhomes, campervans and caravans. Each pitch welcomes up to nine guests, with no set boundaries so everyone can spread out and you can park your car next to your pitch.
Guests will be treated to great sea views over the beautiful countryside of the National Trust's Gupton Estate which is right next door.
Campfires and BBQs are welcome too (as long as guests are careful). It is also the perfect location for stargazing because it is set in a dark-sky discovery area so on a clear night you can enjoy a view of the constellations, the Milky Way and at certain times of the year meteor showers too.
If you enjoy walking the Wales Coast Path is easily accessed from many locations nearby or you can hop on the Coastal Cruiser bus which stops at the site entrance.
A little further afield you will find the historic St Davids (the UK's smallest city) with its beautiful cathedral an hour away. The ferry port to Rosslare in Ireland is about a 20 minute drive away if you feel like going on a trip.
Canine companions can join you for your stay too, with up to two pups permitted per pitch.
Newton Farm Campsite is open from 28/03 to 29/11.

A note from the site themselves...
Our campsite has been family run for three generations and we have a friendly and relaxed vibe. We have plenty of space for people to relax and play, and we have great views and incredible sunsets.
We are within easy reach of 3 very different beaches so everyone can enjoy our wonderful coast.
Our site is very peaceful but we are only about a ten minute drive from the historic town of Pembroke or a five minute drive from the conservation area village of Angle. We hope to welcome you here soon, Rowland

Motorhome - Non Electric Grass Motorhome PitchesMay 2025
A lovely campsite!
Set in the countryside with views of the sea, this campsite gave us everything we needed.
Dog friendly, family friendly, clean, tidy, and friendly owners.
Both toilets and showers were kept clean and stocked up with toilet roll.
You could park up where you wanted so everyone was spaced out nicely, and is a relatively quiet campsite.
It was only a 5 minute drive to freshwater west beach and we even found Dobbies memorial (if you're into harry potter you will understand). The beach itself is beautiful (even in the rain) and dog friendly. There is lots of rocks and caves to explore to if you have little ones, or even an inquisitive adult!
10 minute drive into Pembroke for shops and a 5 minute drive to a restaurant/pub.
If you prefer peace and quiet to hustle and bustle this campsite is for you.
Will definitely go back!

It was a peaceful location with a beautiful view of the sea, only 10 minutes drive from Pembroke.

Large Tent - Non Electric Grass Tent PitchesMay 2025
Stayed here with a bunch of uni friends after we finished our set of exams.
Unfortunately, we brought the bad weather so we didn't get to spend as much time at the beach as we would've liked! However, Roland, the campsite owner, was very lovely and friendly, giving us plenty of suggestions to do and made sure we enjoyed our stay. Facilities are well maintained, and I really liked the rural environment. No Wi-Fi, no electricity; perfect for a digital detox (service is not terrible if an emergency arises though).
We travelled to various beaches including Barfundle Bay, Freshwater West and Freshwater East, as well as doing part of the coast walk which was great adventurous fun.
Beaches are not really walkable from the site unfortunately, would definitely take at least 45 minutes to get there. However, with a car, it's only a 10 minute drive to Fresh West, so not that big of a deal.
Overall, a lovely stay despite the terrible weather, and big thanks to Roland for being such an accommodating host.
